Well, you made it & got stoned too so no worries. I remember a trip I had to make to New Orleans in my 73 super beetle with my wife and her mom - the bonnet un-latched and powdered the windshield on the interstate at 70 mph. The pucker factor was off the charts, I managed to haul her down before we all died & for some reason it is a comedy point in the family now. I don't get it, but I suppose it is that "How the fuck did we avoid getting killed" type of nervous humor.

yeah getting sideways is always fun bout one of the only thing i like about winter is getting toasted high and drifting my 94 chevy through some empty parking lot in the middle of the night lol. I did wrecked my 90 dodge ram that way though smacked a telephone pole a mail box and a 7ft spruce doing about 70 leveled everything shit a brick then too

I was on the highway one time and it got so cold that it froze the tires! That would have been back in 88 or 89 there was a huge ice storm. I was scared shitless!

haha probably coated with ice.
i imagine you could floor it and get the tires from the pavement if they were frozen to it.

but yeah man, i go out on the weekends in my little pickup and get sideways for days.
so much fun haha

Haha nice bro... I'll smoke to you being alive:joint:...I can tell no one else on this site has gone thru this by your lack of posts. lol. Shit is intense. I didn't have to drive 5 hours tho. Holy shit. That is a marathon. I did have to drive like 20 mins tho in a t-storm with no wipers or a/c lol. Don't know why you would be doing 70??? Crazy bastard...I was doing like 50...Then I got comfortable enough to get in the fast lane and crank it up to 60. And literally passed every other car on the highway. lol people drive like such pussies.

Some years back we lived in a small community in the interior of Alaska where it gets VERY cold !! One year we saw -73 F, Ambient ! At those temps the tire rubber becomes very hard, and has a flat spot where it's been sitting on the ground that when you begin driving its like you are driving on a manical test track or something (we used to call it the Flintstone effect). It takes quite a few miles for the rubber to get flexible again & its uncomfortable to say the least. Also, if your tires are a bit under inflated to begin with they can easily become unseated from the bead during a turn causing a dramitic loss of the remainder of your air.
But it was something we learned to deal with.

Why didn't you just use them manually? They are designed so that if the motor fails you can work them manually by tying a rope to the left one and pulling it back and forth.
