5 of 6 are Hermies Help!

First Time Grower

Setup:

  • 2ftx4ftx5ft Tent
  • 3 Lamp 4 Bulbs each CFL Lights
  • Soil grown with Fox Farm nutrients
  • Purchased 6 PurpleWreck clones from SanDiegoclones.com
  • Fan in place
  • 240CFM exhaust into a carbon filter
  • Floor heater to keep temps up.

The grow is located in an un-insulated garage the temp swings from 70-86 Avg. 77 humidity ranges from 40-55%. The plants are checked twice daily (never during sleepy time) and fed about every 3-4 days. The plants are 3 weeks and 3 days into flowering. Found this, this morning. I will get more detailed pics this afternoon.

A Few questions:

Please confirm these are Hermi?

How can 5 of 6 Hermi?

What caused them to Hermi?

Is this worth saving, if so how?

Any advice will help thank you so much! Please let me know if you need more info.

Possible causes discovered so far (please give opinion on if it is probable cause):

  • Red on light from floor heater
  • Grown in apartment garage with shared circuits. Neighbor welds frequently causing CFL bulbs to flicker
  • Possible tiny pin hole leaks from sewing of tent (tent itself is in a relatively dark environment itself)

Yup! There hermie bro! :( and if you've checked your grow tent out, & didn't see any light leaks & didn't go in there during lights out, and there light schedule stayed the same, "on a timer". :) you know, idk your growing area, "room" if you have enough or not. But when this BS happened to me, I took the he/she's into another room & just kept a eye on um, & took a pair of tweezers & plucked the "nuts" off of them! And believe it or not even though they where he/she's they still ended up giving me good smoke! Just not as much as I would normally get! But worth it!! Damn! Sorry that shit happened to them though!!

That's just too bad... I don't have enough room or the setup to grow them but since 5 of 6 went this way I am probably going to keep growing them and pick the sacs. What makes it worse is that I have already started a second grow area with clones of these he/shes... Will they most likely be Hermi too?


If it is genetics then do you think the people that supplied the clones knew this? I am going to contact them since they are a reputable provider.

You could have hermied because your temps are way tooo high. You need to be in the 70s no 80s lol. Too much stress. Also 55% humidity is too high for flowering. Get a 65 cfm inline sunleaves fan for cheap and plug it in near the bottom of the grow and always have it on to get fresh air constantly.

I have a 240CFM Exhaust from the top wouldn't that bring in enough fresh air?

I thought Humidity was ok too... I did my best to curb temp swings. The Highs for the temps are quick peaks. Its the small floor heater that brings temps up then shuts off. The floor heater (set to low)did blow directly onto the plants. To reiterate though it did not stay on constantly it would cycle

i don't think it was temps as i've had much higher and although it will slow the shit out of the growth, i've never had hermie issues as a result..

call the people you got them from and see what they have to say.. i'm sure they will deny deny deny, but it's worth a shot imo.

Yes I will definitely update when they get back to me. It is just so surprising to see this from clones, I was hoping to avoid sexing issues by using clones...Wrong!

Train wreak and it's crosses are known for higher hermi chance. If you live in Oregon buy a product called hermison from constant gardener. You have to call and ask for it then pick it up, it's mixed up and sold only as its asked for. It's the real deal and has let me harvest seedless plants even with full blown male branches the hermi was so bad.


edit: maybe even if out of state call an ask about shipping, it's worth it and for 12$ it will last you like 200000 uses. It only takes like 1/4 teaspoon/ quart

Just got off the phone with them. They said they haven't had any complaints about hermi's. He seems legitimate in his reply. He does seem unsure really why it could have happened but said that it could be anything..

5 out of 6? All cuttings from same mother I bet...Genetics....has to be..If they were all different cutting, strains, etc...Then it would point most likely to something the current grower did ( IE yourself)

Well the clones are all from the same collective. As for the same Mother I do not know for sure, although I would guess not because they had very distinct growth characteristics.. It has got to be something on my end, these providers are very reputable.
