5 Seeds, 5 Females...Are they hermies?

A reputable guy, not a store, sold me 5 seeds. 5 seeds germinated and I have 5 female plants now. If they would have been feminized seeds the guy would have surely told me or sold them for more. My b-friend thinks I've been skrewed and the "reputable" guy sold me hermi seeds from a crazy female that became a male...If so how do I know what I have is crap or worth the effort?

Is smell an indicator of potency? They are not flowering yet but they have shown their sex. I am also battling a mite problem. I know the plants are not tall, but I'm a shelf grower. No space, need bonzai plants.

now forgive me if I'm wrong but a seed produced from a hermie pollinating itself is going to be femenized 100% so the drawback is possible herm genes yes? anybody follow me? i'm just thinking what are the odds out of every seed it'll be hermie and if so how long till u can tell, they still might be better than reg seeds u know, if u look at it that way, some of u ogs no the answer I'm lookin for here

Even if they are hermie, grow them. You dont have a massive grow going on so the plants will still produce smokeable bud and not ruin 25 plants.

that depends on a lot of things.

A real hermaphrodite pollinating itself will probably give seeds that have about half hermaphrodites and the rest males and females.
A female plant that was stressed for what ever reason and pollinated itself will have feminized seeds the resulting plants will be about as likely to produce male flowers under the same conditions as the parent plant.

The "herm genes" are really only there if the original plant was a real hermaphrodite, showing both male and female flowers at the same time and having an X and a Y chromosome.

This whole hermaphrodite thing is out of control. Its like the imaginary problem of the year. That and pH and Mg deficiency.

Listen to ur instinct, u may not be in control but worrying won't help here's my point of view from experience. 6 months ago I was handed 12 seeds from a sac of white think looking bud that had seeds germinated 6, got 6 female plants 4 are ready to come down, 2 just started flowering germed 2 more already showing pistols that's 8 for 8 u hear hermies pass on hermies, also hermies make all female, it depends but I have always got females and if u treat the right u will have sinsemilla check my pics

Screw instinct, grow out the plants and just check for pollen sacks...ive never seen someone unhappy that they got all female plants before

Once people start to worry they might have hermies any weird looking calyx will throw u into a panic, example here's some pics of a female 1 week from harvest this one is taller then it's sisters and had so many side shoots I took some big leaves, well Late into flowering it developed a cluster around this clipped leaf site that two to three calyx were in a close area I thought DAMN it hermied then I decided to just let it go it would only make a few seeds, well they opened just pistols a cluster no pollen kind of a deformed female flower. She veged close to 16 weeks due to room and budget so this does happen I got another cluster but they turned out to be female flowers also but they sure looked like a cluster of male flowers there just wasn't that stem there to separate the calyx's

As these pics show a cluster of what appears pollen sacks is really female flowers, here is a few pics taken over a couple days to monitor this cluster, just as the time before, a weird cluster of female flowers.

OK so if the harvest turn out nice and I kept a mother for cloning...for outside this summer, it would not be risky then?

Grow them!! I have hermie seeds, got them from an old timer. Not speaking for yours, but the ones I have only produce 1 single male flower at the very end of flowering. Its a survival gene. He claims since she is a fem pollenating herself, she can only produce fem seeds, with the gene to hermie right before she dies. She will only produce a seed or 2. So basically you have feminized seeds that will always replinish itself. Win/Win situation if you ask me.
