500 w halogen work light...

i have a few oof these lights at me house and i was wondering if i took off the cage on the front and the base and hang it above my plants will it work? it is 500w.

No halogens dont produce the right spectrum and produce too much heat. Buy CLFs if you are tight on budget or Metal Halide/High Pressure Sodium if you have the money for it.
