Yeah, if you read it, the second comment is the guy saying they're not his pictures. Unless you're suggesting they're photoshopped. In which case, thats the most rediculous thing i've ever heard.
The point being, you can have a gigantic harvest in a very small area with negligible maintenance. Get a room full of mothers and clones and you are good to go.
As for the volksgarden, i've heard mixed things about the quality of construction.

its just every day there is a post on here from someone who doesnt want to learn anything.. every post has at least one dollar sign and you can tell very quickly they have no love for the plant, no love for its secrets, and no love of learning. probly everyone on this site has sold a nug at one point (its an expensive hobby)

and actually the pics in that forum are of a rotogrow... not a volks garden.. rotogrows are built better from what iv seen. you can tell its a roto grow because in big letters it says www.Roto-grow.com which is no longer there... but rotogro.com is.
and before that tool tries to say im selling them too... uhhh no i dont own any part of the company haha

Make 2 identical flower rooms (alternate on/off schedules)
each room:
(2) 4x8 flood tables (=$300ish?)
(1) dual digi 600W (=$290)
(2) digi 1000W (=$600)
(1) Dual Cool Tubes (=$400ish)
total apprx=$1600
x2 rooms =$3200
+fans and carbon scrubbers and reservoirs and pumps
+a room for mommas and seedlings
I'd go 6"x6" rockwool (cut off bottom half of plastic cover) and fill in all around with hydroton. I don't know if it would be light enough to transfer but go 4.5 weeks under dual 600W then 4.5 weeks under dual 1000W ( but with 2 rooms stagger it so you crop every 14-19 days (8-11 weeks)

i'm sure yer right.... but they cost so damn much that they had better put out the buds big time. so, i'll take the guy's word for it under all those pics; he says that he got 2lbs. from 2 1000 HPS lights in his roto garden and was dissapointed with the condition of the buds. You can pull that off a flat garden with half as many plants... or even more if you wanted to grow that many plants flat. Or you could go vertical, which is what the roto is basically all about. Except that vertical growing needn't increase your start-up costs at all.
my original point was that a person (with only 5k to spend) shouldn't be so worried about all the bells and whistles... if he stuck to solid gear with a good track record he'd have plenty of cash to invest in a bigger setup. Like (4) 1000w HPS and some t5's for vegging and cloning. i also advise skipping on LED's... because they are very expensive, not because they can't be used for clones and perhaps some vegging. And advised skipping on tents because they limit your grow area (if you could just as well use the whole room) and because they are problematic as far as heat buildup goes if you aren't carefull.
but, since he could care less how much of someone else's money that he spends (remind me not to add this person to my friends list)... i'm sure my original post was a waste of time as far as he was concerned.

What is the room size? Is there enough power/room in the breaker box? Do you have enough knowledge about electrical?If not, read up not too technical. water in the room? A/C, reroute ducts? Ebb and grow is the shit. Go with @ least 50 watts per sq ft. dual ballast. Is the grow gonna be perpetual? CO2? 10x10 12x12 5k will get it. If electric is in doubt get a genset.
