501st Mother - First Journal

Hi everyone,

My goal is to keep the baby alive so it can produce clones for future grows.

-Strain: 501 st - but not 100% sure, originally purchased as a clone

-Light: 4 x 23w CFL 6700k
-Medium: Coco coir w/ diper gel mix
-Air: intake from exterior & exhaust
-Nutes: General Hydroponics Flora-all
-Pot size: 1 Gal currently transplant to 5 Gal in future.

I put it in soil at first and had a huge problem with gnats and other pests. I switched to coco, and put in small pot with traps. The issue seems to be resolved but I'm keeping an eye out on it. It has exploded since I switched it.

Questions:
Does this look like it can become a strong healthy mom?

Here are a few pictures of the setup and new growth progress. The dome is for seedlings of all kinds.

I have seen a lot of mother plants and the stem looks really thick and strong. Does anyone know if this can become strong? It came from a clone, so I am scared it doesnt have strong genetics. Would it be better to have mother plants be grown from seed? If anyone coule help that would be awesome bongsmilie:-D:weed:

Watered, trimmed and supported the plant. Was able to take one clone, I hope it takes root. I also topped it in order to stop the stretch. This strain stretches a lot and grows quickly.

Noticed the new growth was tiny and thought it could be the pot size. Changed to 5gal pot in coco topped with sand. The clone died, so I will hold off on cloning til it grows larger.

501st og is a good strain. When I had it, it tested at 22% thc. I built a tolerance to it quite quick though, but a solid og strain.

Awesome! thanks for that info. Did yours stretch a lot? mine seems to have long spaces between the nodes but grows quick. I have a 501st flowering right now in a tent, I cant wait to try it, it smells really sweet.

Vertical growth has stopped and now side branching exploded. I will need to support in the future. A bit of yellowing on top growth, now sure why. I will water once the pot feels light.

The plant has stretched and exploded with growth. They will be ready for cloning this weekend. Side branching is crazy, so I hope when I clone it'll tame it down and make it more bushy. I have not had much luck with cloning but this time I will take every precaution to ensure success. Should be able to take 5 from this mother.:weed::leaf::bigjoint:

This thing is just growing and growing. I can't wait to cut clones this weekend. My current grow is almost done, and need these to keep production going.

This thing is out of control. I can't wait to clone it so I can have my next grow going. Itll also make it smaller and more manageable. I purchased an easy cloner, and it should be arriving soon. I want to try to clone one big cutting. There's damage on the large fan leaves, but I think it was from some large flies that came in and happen to pick a large fan leave to land on. Not really sure. If anyone knows let me know.
