Geez, I can't believe that this plant is doing so well under those LEDs. I really wanna see how they fare in the weeks to come as they flower.

On Monday the sales rep for this brand of led grow lights is going to contact me. I'm going to tell him that from the information I've been able to gather, these lights are good for vegetation stage of growth but produce weak flowers. What is another type of plant I could say I am growing so I don't have to say I'm interesed in his lights for growing Marijuana? Maybe he'll figure it out himself but I'll be coy.

your plants look fantastic! i was already going to try out led's before, but now i'm going to hurry my ass up... aside from the lighting, you seem to be doing a good job all around! props! how close are the lights/could you move them any closer?

oh and for everyone saying that using a 1000 watt hps is better then using like 10 26 watt cfls. go fuck your self. think of the electricity issues. but if you dont have issues with electricity. then fucking get 1000 watts worth of cfls or LEDS and lets see who grows better with better buds. of course if you use that much light you'll get better results. i bet if they made a 1000 watt cfl bulb it would blow any hps out the damn water. thats almost 70000 lumens for a 1000 watt cfl but it will still grow a better plant.

How many lumens are in a 1k hps bulb? I'll let you answer that one.

Get yourself 4 envirolites and do a side by side.
The only way an hps will lose if everything is equal (nutes, medium) is from ventilation.

so your saying that if i get 100 10 watt cfls place them every where around the plant that it wont have better buds than 1 1000 watt hps bulb that jsut sits above the plant?

i have a 1000w lumalux plantastar hps and on the box it says 130000 lumens you would think that would beat your 70000 for a 1000 cfl and i have got 2 pounds off two 1000 hps with four plants i would like to see a test done but if you got 10 26 watts cfl yes it sould out grow one 1000 watts hps:mrgreen:

That guy is crazy, Even if you went to home depo and got 5 200watt cfls you would never ever out grow the 1000watt hps, It's just not going to happen. Cfl's are good for afew things a cheap setup is one, lower energy cost around Fdd house not so much, haha Jk:mrgreen:

what i mean is a hps light doesn't fade as bad as cfl's. yes cfls produce less heat which means they can be placed closer to the plant but when you have a 1000watt hps the light almost doesn't fade at all. I hope this make since

I would say get 1000watt high output LEDS! Only that can beat HPS!
1000watt mean 62 RED 75 BLUE lights approx. 40plants that should enough for a real commercial grower.... I know a bit pricey!

a 1000w HPS runs at an average of 100,000 lumens- 150,000 lumens
you do the math

LED's everage lumens

Red LEDs - 42 lumens/watt by Lumileds, 28 by ETG, 22-28 by Avago.
Red-Orange LEDs - 53 lumens/watt by Lumileds, 21-22 maybe now 28.5 by Avago, 15 by Toshiba.
Truly Orange LEDs - 18-22 lumens/watt by Toshiba, 18-21 lumens/watt by Avago.
Yellow and "amber" LEDs - 34-35 lumens/watt by Lumileds, 14-16 lumens/watt by Toshiba.
Yellow-Green LEDs - 8 lumens per watt by P. Tec Opto, 3-4 lumens/watt by Toshiba, but there is a way to get 20-40.
Green LEDs - 25-32+ sometimes 42 lumens/watt by Nichia, already 33 and soon 65-70 by Cree, 46 by Lumileds, 16-plus probably 20-plus by Toyoda Gosei and Avago.
Nichia green LEDs get 30-55 lumens/watt at 5 milliamps
Blue-Green LEDs - 25-28 lumens/watt by Nichia, 37 by Lumileds, soon maybe 41-46 by Cree.
Blue LEDs - 9 to optimistically 12 and soon 20.6 MAYBE 23 lumens/watt by Cree, 7.5-8 to rarely 10 lumens/watt by Nichia, 13 by Lumileds, 5.5-plus by Toyoda Gosei, maybe Avago - UPDATE 11/4/2004.
White LEDs - 64-plus by Citizen Electronics, as high as 50 lumens/watt by Nichia, 37 soon 50 by Lumileds, 23-plus by Osram, now as high as 47-69 for ones with new Cree chips - updated 10/9/2006.

if you had a 1000w worth of the finest grade white LED's youd have 685,000 lumens

if you had 1000w worth of HPS best output like around 165,000 lumens

A fluro would well...... be much lower id day the battle of 1000w led setups and 1000w hps setups begins.

not to mention plants need a shit load more than just lumens to be a healthy plant.

i dont wanna respond to that off the wall CFL vs HPS comment...

but tm21 ur plants look very healthy...ridiculously small..like unbelieveablly behind as far as growth, but they look healthy.

Im guessing you will yeild 1/8th oz..just my guess no more than 1/4th oz
good luck
