5500K vs 6500K for veg

Hey guys, so I love the site! Has helped me out more than I can explain. I'm on my first grow, 33 days into flower. Everything has gone great thus far, and still is!

I just recently built a veg box, so I can start vegging some girls so that when harvest comes, more girls can get thrown into the flower room.

I'm growing with CFL's, and am a little low on the funds. I still don't need the veg room for another week. It's pretty much completely built, I just have to buy the lights. Now the 5500K lights are a bit less expensive than the 6500K lights, and come in 2 packs, I can't find 2 packs of the 6500k anywhere. So my question is, for veg, would 5500K be just as effective as the 6500K lights? Just lookin to save a couple bucks that's all. This chart is the one that made the question pop up in my head, and the fact that I need to save a little bit of cash.

ALL FEEDBACK WELCOME!

I think 6500 is better, but not by much. I actually have 65, 50, 30 and 27s in my veg area. Heavy on the 65 and 50s. And in my flower area i have the same, but heavy on the 30 and 27s.

I say go for as much spectrum as you can.

Yea it was just a large wood book shelf if . I took it completely apart, and built that veg box from the scraps of wood.

Look on Craigslist for 400w HPS. Deals are out there...Deal with folks in your area only.
Trust me! I would absolutely LOVE to run an HSP instead of CFL's. But heat would be a problem I think. How hot do the HPS run?

im veggin under 105watt 5000k. single bulb.
it runs a bit warmer then say, 2x 42 watters, but not by much
vegging nice, very nice and dark green

Thanks:
But In your journal it says that you are growing with, and I quote "105W CFL (6500K)" And I'm wondering about the 5000-5500K light spec for growing... So which one is it that you are actually growing with?

Thanks for all the replies peeps!

I didn't like the growth from 6500k cfl's although they were only 26w. Cool white and warm white is all I use now: 42w 2700k for veg, 45w 4100k for moms and clone rooting, 65w 2700k for flower.
