594 watt CFL 1st grow plants out of control!!!

BUT if you were using a MH or HPS you would be way further a long by now!

I went cheap on my lights and regret it!

Soon as I harvest I'm investing in a 400w or 600w hps.

Forget slow growing! Rather spend the money and harvest more often!

Also those cups will get annoying having to water so often! I had my plants in similar cups until they sexed and was a nightmare keeping them fed! I was so freaken happy when I found my 8 ladies and moved them into their permanent homes! hehe

anyways good luck! I'd recommend a nice hps though. I constantly see pictures of peoples plants on here with 1/2 the time invested and more then double the production of my plants! but hey im happy first time was a learning experience

I got some food for the plants 2night. I will be going 1/4 strength on Shultz 10-15-10 and 1 tablespoon of molasses per gallon. I also picked up some Shultz Bloom Plus. Going to wait and use that when they show and get rid of males. 5th day into flower and this will be their first feeding. Going to submerge cups into water and wait till bubbles stop. Anyone use that Bloom Plus?

I asked a couple people about the bloom because i was going to try it and they said they didnt notice any improvements and it burnt them a little(dr.bud was one of them). And yes HID is superior but you can grow the same quality buds in the same amount of time if you know what you are doing. You shouldnt HAVE to use HID lighting. I went from a 400w hps to 420w of cfl and there about the same time of yeild and yes i have nice tight buds, donky dicks no, but i dont need bag appeal some 5in buds are fine with me

i dont know if anyones already said this, but why wouldnt you just get a hps? like 594w of CFLs is a lot of CFLs and CFLs only last like one or two grows. it would be a lot cheaper to get a hps.

maybe cuz dude didnt want a HPS or a MH he got enough watt power and lumens ... i dont know why cats be like why dont u do that? why dont u get this ?... it's his grow not yours.. plants looking good my dude ...

I think that you might be confused, hps only last a couple grows, cfls last for years plus they have a 9 yr warrenty so you can take them up to the store and have them replaced for free

Well said LAX and smpproGrindin- dude if I wanted an hps I would buy one. If you read this thread you would realize I've only spent a total of $ 65. It was $50 but bought the nutes last night.The lights were free spent $25 on 26watters and 2 42 watters. I'm tired of people talkin about gettin better lights. My boy has a 400 hps and his plants don't look any better than mine some are worse. His hps is like an oven in his closet 90 degress plus with 2 fans. My closet never gets over 80 degrees.HIs branches are long and thin stretch from light being to far away. Mine are yes no where as tall as his but they are definetly bushier and fatter being 3 inches away from the plant not a ft or more with his. You guys can use those ovens of light if you want I'm staying CFLAnd Grindin get your facts straight cfl last 9 years get that with an Hps ? When my boy asked if I would help him setup his next grow with cfls and put his Hps away those words are priceless

Different conditions call for different equipment.

Heat is a big big issue. If you don't have the ventilation, HID lights will kill everyting in the room.

im gonna start a lowryder grow in the my closet here in a few days ..... im gonna go with CFL's i got ventilation issues my self ..they dont put out much heat u right

Alright just got done with watering. I tried for the first time dunking into solution instead of hand watering from top. Went one drop 10-15-10 and 1 tbs of molasses per gallon I'll see how they respond Starting to get the pot lift method down.
Well said KPW for those with limited space or stealth cfl is way to go. Of course if you have an entire room those hps are the way to go. Depends on grow and preference of individual. Not everyone wants to invest hundreds of $ or even thousands of $ for some homegrown. . Anyone with half a brain and 50 bucks can start a small op if thats what they want. I don't want to grow my plants in the desert 90+ degrees something those hps can do. My closet has never seen 80 degrees highest temp I have seen is 77 with doors closed all day with no fan on It's not all about WATTS it's growing in the best environment ,and hot ass closets are not plant friendly

Back after a long ass weekend in the city. Came home and plants have started to stretch after switching to 12/12. Not a problem on the height but DAMN it's gettin tighter in there and the smell is off the chain I really need them to show it's been almost a week and no sign of sex on any of them. I'm starting to notice the variety of all the differant bagseed. Have to water I will throw up some more pics when I'm done

u should see signs of sex within the next 7-10 days

Lax thanks thats what I was thinking 2 weeks at the most I hope so cause there is not any room. I pulled 3 of the worst looking plants today to make some room. Second watering of nutes 3 drops 10-15-10 schultz and 1 tbs of molasses per gallon I decided to repot sour diesel in a larger container hopefully it we be female as I would like to clone and make her a mom. Still learning how to do that but I have some time to study. My goal is to keep 4 or 5 plants (depends on sour diesel)and clone from them I have my eye on the 4 in the pic and the diesel. Want to run 10-20 clones for next grow so it wont be so crowded in closet
