nope, i just try to water them every night or morning they need it using the weight of the pot to judge (slight tipping test) they have gotten thirsty a few times but not too bad, not going limp or anything like that. dry enough though that a few leaves die off know what i mean? thats one of the areas i think could be helped, like i dont know if the buds were ever hurt or stunted by a lack of water but i feel that would have been a chance and is something that makes me want to go back to hydro...

what ones are you talking about specifically? the cone shaped ones that are a bit stretched at top? if so those are a bit odd, someone came by yesterday and commented on those also saying his jack did that also and he just snipped off the top to round them out. its a lot like a fox tail. the buds are really firm below that

starting day 38 and things are changing quickly! a few of my plants are getting hints of purple on some buds and some coloration of the leafs. the buds are getting so huge the plants are falling over left and right! my un screened plants all got rotated to help support each other a bit, i really love the looks of the buds hanging upside down though with so far to go!!!

in fact im a little lucky i decided to turn off those hanging bulbs, the weight of the buds pulled the screen off one wall and the buds were nearly touching one of them the other day. i reattached the netting to the wall and was able to judge that the effort of moving the net=lots of buds. scientific i know, but it was a little bit of joy.


gave them another dose of just water tonight so i can feel super safe about giving them a big dose of liquid bone meal and my other nutes. in a few days i will add overdrive and big bud to my lineup.

Ya i am blessed with lots of room and a very understanding girlfriend. Fortunately this house is two bedrooms and the plants have their own spot, our last place we had a 4x8 tent set up right next to the bed. Literally only room for my bed, the tent, and less then a foot between them. Looking back makes me LMFAO! @ the hilarity of that grow. But ya, this room is wonderful to have, however it will never be enough, it's the nature of the addiction that we all have of growing.

it would be enough if you were growing efficient. 5k watts in a 2 bedroom house? your gangster my dude. what are you paying? a dollar of electric a month per sq ft of house?

Whats your problem? Maybe you don't get the feeling of always wanting to expand but I do. If I had it my way I'd have a 20' x 20' basement under a nice house. And after I have that I'm sure I'll want a barn etc.

I hope things really are going so good for you though that my grow seems to disgust you so much, You must shit gold.

its not doing as well as id hoped. check the link at bottom. i hear you on expanding.. i also plan on having alot of lights when i feel im a good enough grower to handle it. but why have a huge illegal grow if your not doing well with it? work on getting better, then expand. and for fucks sake dont put anymore lights in that 2 bedroom house. i have a 3 bedroom with a garage and i still am sketched with my 5200 watts

i hear what your saying and your point of view now makes much more sense to me. the fact of the matter is you must have miss read something or i was not clear about it, but this is a 100% legal medical grow. i am only growing 12 flowering plants because that is what i am legal to grow. that is why you can see some gaps in my pictures of the canopy, and why my plants are so far apart. i understand the point of view of risk vs reward, and that if this were done by others who were not legal then the risk involved with so many lights and a room this size would make the grower a TOTAL fool. i agree with you that from a clandestine grower standpoint im fucked, not worth it watt vs plant wise or watt vs room size wise. i feel zero sketch-e-ness, other then slight worry about a brake in, and even that is ok if i come out of it unharmed i can always regrow. around where i live its pretty mellow, i like to keep as low a profile i can so i dont offend the people around me and get complaints.

but as it stands im legal to grow 12 plants regardless of the size of them or the watts i use to get them. i feel that im doing everything i can with the lights to make up for other short-comings i may have ran into. i just want to do as good as i can with what i have and i feel i do have a fair amount to work with . im still learning, im no old hand, but i have done a few harvests and i feel this will be a personal best that will leave me lots of room to improve on.

i am also medical. i have asthma so im not supposed to smoke weed only ingest, which uses way more nugs so i have a rec for more plants. plus my dad is old and fucked up and cool enough to post his rec on my spot too. this allows me to grow ALOT of plants but i try to keep it at around 50.

some advise tell me to fuck off if you want. your plants need nitrogen. i dont care what the guy at the hydro store told you he is wrong. finish this run out doing it that way, and then try something different next time an see if you do better. i know you dont care about yield. but really, thats bullshit, cause if i told you i could guarantee you 2 more pounds if you did it right you would be all over that. i read above that you said you got bigbud and overdrive. better late than never but you should of started the big bud week 2 or 3 to get best results. also dont use both products at same time, overdrive is for late flower weeks 6.5-7.5 for me. i run mostly all advanced so i know the products pretty well, i wouldnt use recommended dose on bottle because you might get some burn, i usually dont go more than about 50% with those but i also use a 2 part.

i agree with you, some have a big lack of N. not all do however and those are the greenest and most lush. im sure if all were so green all would look much better, and that being said i am considering changing the nutes being used. this run was finishing up a lot of half full or sample size bottles i had paid for in past grows or gotten for free at conventions or in grow stores, next run i am thinking about running the soul synthetics lineup that contains a N nute in flower, or using a soil mix that has a lot of organics mixed in. i may run fox farms again but that was what i did this time and even though i used a lot of additives as you point out they could be more lush.


i must of been too high this morning, heres whats really up: i have been using big bud and bud candy from when directed on the bottle, alone with trinity (sugar/carb/molasses) and unsweetened mollases (only 1 time on the pure molasses) those bottles are all empty.

what i am about to start using is overdrive and gravity. the gravity im not so sure on because while i have loved it in the past there is a lot of concern over carcinogens.

again i made a bit of a mistake threw a foggy haze of some very nice meds by the name of recon.

one thing i would assume though, is that this nitrogen deprived plants should taste great since thats what adds a lot of the negative flavor, even if they dont live up to the "true potential" i think they will be productive enough. (i know its a silver lining, but i dont think the metaphorical cloud is all that dark anyways)

your right about me not truly not caring about yields because we all do your right, i just mean they are not as important at this stage from a gpw standpoint, i felt i could get a bit more weight from adding watts and i think it did help. i want more yield but im willing to wait till next crop unless i get some advise that can easily be carried out. the main reason for the idea of soul synthetics is that i know some other local people that use it can i could bounce ideas or get tips from.

edit: and iv love to take your advise on how to improve the plan for next crop, im not trying to defend the position of being unreceptive, and now that we have it all cleared up on whats what what the current grow being carried out to fruition and the next grow being still changeable. we can move on together!

my gf wants to change rooms and give the plants the larger bedroom anyways so change is easy at that time. i currently have 4 hoods and all are ductable and 4 lamp cords that can hang freely or be added to my hoodes that can hold up to 3 sockets, i could run them in a line and vent out the window and have a intake on the same loop so the rooms air is not effected. this would take a lot of heat out as you have all mentioned while still giving me a sealed room with a/c and a easy time to add CO2 if i choose.
the downside is that for one reason or another (cheap manufacturing cough cough) on my hoods the metal holding the glass has bent mid run somehow and fell on the plants. generally it shouldent be a problem and its fixable and ya they have a more reliable style now if i were to go buy another set of hoods.... but it was so easy to do it this way. i bet you can start to see some of the appeal of this way now, and maybe it would help if i said i very resently moved in before flower and just put large vegging plants in and wanted a low stress low upfront cost grow. lemme tell ya fear of falling glass is not low stress hahaha.

sorry im stoned too. so you dont have co2 now? are you bringing in fresh air or are you choking them? if you can get your hands on some yellow bottle final to throw in with that over drive weeks 6.5-flush it will make those girls swell hard

ya they get some air exchange, the a/c does a fair bit of in-out (i know some people say it doesent but i feel if its blowing cold air in and hot air out things are changing) and i have the door open during lights on a bit for that. i admit its not as good as a tank like i used to have but i had a bad experince with a tank failing and total co2 release killed a few.. havent gotten back on the bandwagon yet.

Some of the plants have really gone purple, colas are getting full of color that are near the a/c. I've never had a room like this before so it's a first for me to see it so early, normally it comes on the last few days if at all. Gonna be great here in a few weeks. I would bet that some of these plants will each be more then my last harvest, so needless to say my jaw is dropping over here each time I walk in the room.

if you either seal up and do co2 (make sure that regulator is on tight) or get a monster inline fan or something to bring in some fresh air from outside or from another room your yield will increase a HUGE amount next run around.

ya i hear by around 20% , and i love the way it makes them look, nice an plump.

im looking for large square trays for my plants next run because they would fit better then these round kidie pools, i compleatly love how they work and just with i could find something close to as cheap (12$ a tray was amazing!) but would save space. i would build a table with pond liner but im not that pro (perminant) yet.

edit, also it was a error with my titan controls meter itself, i had it set at 1500 ppm and came home to it all fucked up due to it somehow failing. its the fear of another "failsafe" failing me thats a turnoff. and that setup wasent cheap mind you, it was a expensive fuck up, that cost me a lot plant wise on top of it.

if you decide you dont want to do co2 and want yields close to it you want to bring in as much fresh air as you can. this will help alot

last night i had to spend a chunk of time tying up my plants with string, i put it off for a long time because normally it isent a really big deal for me if they are, maybe a few branches are top heavey an bend a little, but last night it was like dominoes had happened. my 4 plants that were not in a net were nearly on the ground, many tops were upside down LOL. i decided i had to fix it right then, or risk the plants. it gave me a sick sense of joy to watch them like that though... like... they are doing so well they are about o be ruined hahaha.

the buds are now big enough i cant fit a hand around the buds on many of the large tops. its looking like in the next 2 weeks ill have some colas bigger then soda cans all over the place
so as you can see from some of these pics the purple is coming on hard. my phone doesent really capture it, since it is mostly lost in all the green, but many plants are showing color, my sour strawberry kush is even showing the hints of pink it gave me last time only 2 weeks sooner, so im hoping for some pink buds from it. along with my agent orange who is sposed to be legend for the orange buds, my queen that gives all the colors of fall (all shades of reds purples blues) and my af-crystal going dark purple, this harvest should be a treat
