Well last weekend I changed the light cycle to the gas lantern routine aka 12/1. It's 12 hours on, 5.5 off, 1 on, 5.5 off. The 1 hour of light is to keep them in veg, and with less hours of light they will be growing slower. Will probably wait until right after thanksgiving because I'm leaving for 4 days. Also you were asking about LEC, here's a thread on that lighting:

LED COB panels are also great bang for your buck and if you build your own and they run cooler than HID, LEC, etc.

Also, never have heard about the gas lantern routine. I see you say it keeps the plant in veg and also makes it grow slower. What do you feel is the benefit of using that method?

It's crazy, they are getting large and packed tight even since the last photo, seems like they grow a hell of a lot every single day. On my ballast, do you think it is alright that I switch from the 1000W setting to the 1000W Boost? Not sure what it means but I figure more light. I will post some more photos later!

As far as flipping, with how big they're getting, I might give it another week. I would like to go at least another 2 weeks, but these ladies are just growing up so FAST

A second tent for veg so you can have a perpetual grow? One member said that he was getting 2.5lbs per harvest and only lost a qp using that method vs 18/6. So that's only a 10% decrease in yield for a 46% decrease in electricity. I'm growing for personal use for now, would like to do outdoor medical one day but that's a dream. So the decrease in costs for a scant loss of yields is worth it to me. Also just like experimenting for the hell of it. Anyways we're going into winter here so I'll probably go back to 20/4 next veg cycle.

It will be interesting to see if you get 100% females, nothing is guaranteed. If you get a male are you going to make any seeds?

Well, I bought all feminized seeds. After checking over the weekend 8/10 are confirmed female, I figure the other 2 will show sex in the next couple days.

Also, I need some second judgement. Attached are photos I took over the weekend of all 10 plants. They range from 1 foot tall - 1.5 foot tall and are pretty much filling up the entire tent at this point. I am thinking of letting them get through this week and then flipping on the weekend, giving them a total veg time of 5 weeks.

How is your humidity? Guessing it's staying low enough w/ a 1000w and 3 gal pots. How often are you having to water? My nighttime humidity is getting around 70%, way too high for flower, partly because they are in 10 gallon pots, thinking I'll downsize next round to 5s or just go with the 3s all the way through. Hopefully a dehumidifier will be effective. Your call they look ready to roll! What is your current light height?

Humidity ranges from 40-55%. Usually around 45% though. I really haven't watered much to be honest. About every 3rd day on average I would say. Definitely not every other day, I try to let them dry out a bit between waterings. I bought a 5 gallon bucket which I fill up with tap water and let sit for 24 hours with an airstone/air pump for aeration. I then mix my nutrients in after the 24 hours and let that brew for another 12 hours until I get a little foam at the top like a cappachino. Each plant is given half a gallon. When the plants start showing that they need more water I will bump up to 1 gallon per plant. I use straight 6.5 PH'ed water every 3rd watering (Feed, Feed, Water, Feed, Feed, Water).

I wish I could give you some advice on anything at all, but I am a beginner. Like I said, this is my first grow in a legitimate setup.

Light height is 18" away from the tallest branch of the canopy. I adjust it everyday to stay 18" away, because in my amateur grow I had a few instances with light burn.

UPDATE ON WOODEN BOX: I cut a small (very small) branch with a little nug on it and hung it up to dry so I can try it out tonight. I doubt they were ready, but since this was my very first grow ever I couldn't help myself now that some of the hairs are turning orangeish/brownish. Still having trouble identifying whether the trichomes are clear or milky, so I am just going to let it keep going until I see some amber trichs. Amber should be much easier to identify anyways. This lady is on Day 53 of flower and I think I will probably be chopping on Day 70ish. So for the next week, I will be watering with water (6.5 Ph) and a dose of Cal/Mag. In the second and final week, I will water with straight 6.5 Ph water. I guess after a few straight waterings most of the leftover nutrients will have drained out.

Not that I care too much, but she doesn't smell at all, I mean a very faint smell. When you squeeze the buds, they smell DELICIOUS though. Not sure whats up with that.

I will need some advice on trimming, drying, curing, all of that. Could you start me off somewhere?

I heard from a credible source that wet/dry cycles are not ideal because it develops cracks/dry pockets in the medium. There's also another more important reason why that I don't recall. But watering often will provide more oxygen to the root system. The harvesting and curing threads might be go of or just Google searches. Sorry I don't have much experience in those areas either. But you want to dry em until the stems snap when bent and then a cure in mason jars for 2-3 weeks depending on humidity.

Looking good bud. I got a fem lsd bean I'm running next run my self. LsD and Euphoria been on my list for awhile. I would flip now it it was me, but if ur wanting max yield then you could let em go anothet week or two I suppose. LSD is an indica so it shouldn't stretch more then double its height in flower.

Only suggestions I have is u spent all tha t money on good organic soil but your killing it with liquid nutes. But idk, your nutes are called "Bio...xxx" so maybe they support micro life. If I was you I'd flush em good and start brewing some ACTs, but at very least definetely get some blackstrap mollasses and feed that every watering. It will help regardless and increase smell and taste. Good luck either way and should be a fun finish.

The concept of flushing is quite popular on forums, which makes me wary of it. Only problem is there is no science behind the idea.
One cannot just remove salts from the growing medium, as they are quickly taken up into plant tissue. The preharvest flush is a joke, if you don't believe this, try taking two plants with the same genetics. Flush one two weeks before harvest, as many do... Provide the other plant with nutrients straight up until chop and see for yourself which provides a better yield/flower.

It is popular because it is simple elementary Geology. Farmers in the desert been doing it along time. Nature does it all the time. Salt hurts microbes. But I'm not gonna explain it to you since you already know everything. This is your second grow? I have tested it. More than once and since you felt the need to ask how to germinate a seed and how far your light should be, you obviously have not. Regarding soil,proper OLS> reg nutes. Its not even close. Not an opinion. It is fact. Before your a smart ass know what your talking about when someone gives advice.

Don't ask how to germinate a seed then turn around and act like you know everything.

But anyways, what are ACT's? The nutrients I use are organic but I will be switching to Humboldt here in the next week as General Organics was bought out and is owned by the same company as Miracle Grow? I think lol... They are organic as well. I have heard that their honey supplement works just like molasses and that is part of their line, helping with taste, smell, etc. Anyways, thanks for stopping by, I am excited for the finish as well!!

@420PyRoS Thanks bro, I am torn on whether to flip or not each day LOL!! I have topped some of them to keep height down. Not really LSTing like I said I would because there really is just not much room, they are already a bushy plant to begin with.

One could have a thousand grows and still know nothing regarding science. All I suggested was a simple test, and, instead of trying it, you turn around and attack not only the suggestion, but my personal experience with growing LOL. Excuse me while I go and flush the plants, as I have sinned.

Nowhere in the article you provided is there a source for the facts provided. Seems questionable for a someone to write an article without sources.

Simply sharing information with people who hopefully have an open mind. Never said anything about knowing everything.

Go ahead and flush, it's a waste of time as the plant has already absorbed those salts...

No worries, I was considering topping also as it seems less work. My tent arrives I hope this week, so I don't feel so left out looking at your awesome grow and setup. I'm literally on my hands and knees trying to access mine in a cubby hole atm. Feeding/watering day always sucks.

I would most def wait till they are 2ft tall. I hear the rule is 2x-3x size from flip. So I would guess 4 2/3ft if you flipped 12/12 @ 2ft

Fers I apologize for flaming your thread. I thought he was author. ACT is Aerated Compost Tea. Its basically you brewing billions of the beneficial bacteria that naturally are in every viable type of dirt and soil on the planet. Cliff notes= they are what breaks down all the nutrients in your soil for plants to use. Chem ferts try to simulate this natural process but ill take 475 million years of evolution. If you want to read a scientifically backed book about it, the best is. "Teaming with Microbes" or you can do simple google search and find tons of scientific journals, studies and articles on the matter. Chem ferts work, but Living Organic Soil is better. Hydro is best for yield.

There are many reasons to flush. One being it simulates one of natures most baaic processes. There are many layers of soil (OAEB and R) and it is one factor that balances them.
Second is it DOES flush salt out of the soil. Yes plants absorb salt, bust soil buffers and disperses it. Whereas in hydro it is absorbed much faster which is why if you fuck up hydro your plants generally die. Whereas soil you have a window because the soil buffers it. Flushing 3-5x volume of the soil of water WILL remove and lower salt levels IN SOIL and usually rebalance PH.
Which brings to third. Salt build up (chem fert residue) causes ph issues and locks certain nutrients from being absorbed by roots. Flushing with good water wil help restore that balance. It may have take a few flushes If issue is severe.
4th. Beneficial Microbes that feed your plants by breaking down organic matter (they only eat % of it and rest is buo available to plants to eat) Do not like salts. Another reason to flush. Also why you let hard tap water sit out to dechlorinate.

There are more but I don't want to blow up your thread. You clearly do your research and teach your self how to grow. That is good. Everything you need is available. All you have to do is sort through the Bull Shit.

Desert Grow you are simply wrong. While with any industry there are greedy pieces of shit that prey on guillable people. The science and evidence for bennie bacteria is undisputable. You just don't need a $500 "Compost tea maker" to make it. Every viable soil has them and the most fertile soil has the most. Soil is just humus(organic matter like leaves that is broken down by OMG..microorganisms.) clay and rock particles. Without humus you don't have soil by definition. Without beneficial microorganisms you do not have humus. No Bennies, no soil. No soil, no plants (in nature) period. End of story.
Micros do the exact same thing for plants as they do for us.

That's all I'm gonna say about it. OP ypu seem to have taught your self a lot about growing. I encourage you to continue. Do your own research, but I Promise you if you go with an organic living soil for any soil grow you do in the future, you will never go back to chem ferts. Unless you decide to go hydro for yield. The organic section will tell you a lot if your interested.
