6" fan or 8" with a reducer?

Im looking to cool a 6" magnum xxxl and im just wondering what the best option is

an 8" has more m3/hr 750 as opposed to 680 with the 6"

opinions?

not an expert, but I believe that if the fan is 8" and reduced down to 6" you are losing alot of CFM airflow.. but to what extent, I'm not sure..
I would personally go for it. worst case scenerio you have a better fan than you need.. cheers.

First of all, you want the fan to be located where it can suck air through the hood, not blow it through. So if the hood is set up for 6in, then you will use a 6in. fan, and ducting throughout the setup. Keep the ducting runs as short, and as straight as possible for maximum air transmission.
