update for the rom and blue jack!

everything is looking good, all the clones have showed nice vertical growth these past 16 days (i bought them as rooted cuttings). there is one rom in the middle back that is a runt. i want to pull this one out before flower and put it under my 2ft 4 tube T5 or maybe a single cfl clamp light, i don't know where to put her yet. i really like the uniform size of the other 5 romulan, so 8 plants in flower would be cool. unless i take out a blue jack to veg for later too, then i would flower the remaining 7 beauties. :leaf::hump:

i still might flower all 9 like i originally intended to do. the 9 pot shape seems to fit the space well.

Looking good. Are all the romulan clones from the same mother or no? Even though roms are supposed to be fairly true breeding theres a bit of variation across my 10

thanks. the roms are all from the same clone tray at Elemental Wellness in SJ, CA. i don't have any info on the mother.

I'm having issues with the roms leaves turning nearly white and dropping. Think I've been unintentionally starving them.

hey arik nice grow you have there. I wanted to comment on the Romulan a bit. Unlike most information on it, one of the breeder's at federation said in an article that the Romulan is actually a mostly sativa strain. According to the legend, the seeds came from vietnam and were aqcuired while he was serving there. While working with the strain indicas were said to have been introduced to the gene pool but were removed from the project after poor results. Even though they were working with a sativa, they were selecting for quick maturing traits. IDK what you believe it's so much drama LOL.

I grew Federation's Romulan and it seemed indica to me. I suppose even if it is backcrossed 11 times, if your choosing for the yeild and flowering time, your going to end up with plants that express the White Rhino the most. My Romulan was true to the description- it flowered quickly, it responded well to topping, it had a piney taste and some of the petioles were purple. The pictures in the seed descriptions are so colorful it's rediculous though. Mine was not as potent and trich covered as the original romulan was said to be and I am yet to test the seeds I made from him and her. Also, once Federation went out of business and Next Gen opened, the romulan cross completely changed from WR to Blueberry being used as the outcross (I have heard). I wish I could have tried Romulan back when it was pure....I'm thinking the Flav from Subcool would be a good one to try out.

Anyways, I know you probably don't care, I'm over it too, I'm just bored. Hopefully they are really dank that's all that matters.

Thanks. It's impossible to say where your Romulan is from w/out talking to the person who popped the original seeds. Most likely you would hear another legend about how this cut was acquired. Chances are that if somebody held on to a cutting it's going to be top quality though. I wasn't so lucky to be able to pheno hunt since I bought a 10 pack in like 2006 and out of the 6 plants I have grown, that was the only female. I still have 2 of the original seeds left though. I'll be watching this grow, fingers crossed on a rare dank cut.

My post isn't here about how it's probably more legend/myth than true. My four females all seem near identical. All are piny sickly sweet smelling

I still see it. That's why I said you would hear another legend. Guy would tell you how someone got a cut from romulan joe back in 1995 and how it was almost lost to theives and was resurrected from a pitiful branch on the ground or something, LMAO.

So I assume you are growing seeds and not clones? Where and when did you get yours? Mine all grew very similar except for one male I grew out many years ago. I wish I was able to collect pollen from that one but it was my first attempt and an epic fail. 3rd time was a charm though. Mine was very piney too. Mine drank a lot of water. She always started wilting on me when no other plant was ready to be watered. After she wilted on me the hairs turned pink, it was awesome looking.
