How old are you, Dirkster? You're either too young to be here...or, you're in your 20's and still living with mom and dad...almost as bad. You mean to tell us that you're doing this deal under your parents house without them knowing? Not cool, man. What if you get busted? They could get into trouble, as well. It's one thing to risk your own fate, but another to un-knowingly involve others. What state are you in? This is bad, man. Very bad. I will not be commenting on this anymore. I want nothing to do with you. What you're doing is wrong on so many levels. They're your parents, man. Does anyone else see this for what it is??? Here I thought you were this super hard working guy commited to growing however he could...even though the whole thing probably won't work. But, you're just a selfish kid, too lazy and/or impatient to wait until you have your own place to grow in. You would actually risk your parents freedom, and possibly their home (depending on what state you're in) just so you can grow some weed. Where did you get the money for the equipment? Was that from your parents, too? What percentage will they be getting for the harvests? I assume they're paying for the electricity, as well.

How does everyone else feel about this? Am I the only one who's upset over what this guy is doing? Maybe I'm missing something/ Well, Dirkster...am I?

I am a bit surprised to see you comment like this. It was a bit irrational. Clearly, with the pics, theres no way that he was keeping this from anyone inside the house. It was also quite clear that he was knowledgeable, hard working, motivated, and had the money to accomplish the goal. I understand you viewpoint about risking others and being upset about that but PERSONALLY, I knew he was kidding and didn't think anything of it. I had to re-read the whole thread to figure out what people were going off about. Chill out guys, jeeeeeeez

Last I heard, a toaster is one of the easiest ways to set your house ablaze ;)
u misquoted me
looks like he said what i did

if u said what causes most household fires it would be this
What is the most common cause of residential fires?

Some of the most common causes of residential fires is smoking. Sometime people go to bed, watch TV, smoke a cigarette, fall asleep, and then the cigarette falls out of their mouth and onto the sheets, and we have a fire. They would be lucky if they survived that. If they have a smoke detector installed, then possibly they'll wake up and they'll be able to get out before the whole house or room is consumed in the fire.

if u said what appliance dow u are correct toasters and coffee makers
but it says its not the appliances fault it is the wiring in house
so a house wired safely is as safe as a toaster lol

What household appliances are most commonly involved in fires?

Coffee makers and toasters, electric ovens or toaster ovens, rather, are probably some of the more common causes of home fire. Again, a lot of it has to do with not just the appliance itself but oftentimes the age of the home. So, if your home was built between the 50's and the 70's the wiring is much older than newer construction. And so these are some of the things you'd have to take into consideration when assessing what appliances are most likely to cause a fire. If you think that that's an issue in your home - and one of the common denominators of determining that would be if you have fuses that blow more often than not, and you are looking at lights that dim when you turn on another appliance - this would be a really good time to make sure that you have an electrician possibly come out and check the system for you.

You also have to remember getting caught! If you live in a area that snow's and your pumping 6000 watts your going to be the only house on the block with no snow on the roof! May be a red flag to someone. Also some power companies may start to wounder why your power bill spiked 10 fold. Just my 2 cents, good luck and keep us posted!

Didn't read past page 1, but put 2 1k on each side of the room, then put 5 400w above mounted to the ceiling in the middle. Mount the 1k's in reflective a/c reflective hood.

Alternatively: full vertical 400w, or even 400w HPS/300w LED combo because it's gonna be hot without a AC unit and a lot of fans to move it around.

EDIT: Okay, now I read the entire thread. I to don't believe it is possible for this guy to get away with this under his parent's nose. Even if a kid told me he was doing this under his parents nose I would call bullshit because there would just be no way of covering up electricity or all that dust. But this has been resolved, but I still had a comment to make. lol. Anyways, you said you did or did not have cool tubes? I wonder if you can run those horizontally? Or hoods horizontally, you said something about not having hoods, then something about having hoods, so I'm confused. Anyways, run 3 rows of plants with 2 1k's on either side of the middle row. If you can use the other 2 1ks for side lighting and figure some genius cooling system for them, awesome. Honestly, I am blazed as fuck, worked like crazy all day and just started blazing fat bowls of my cured buds I'm sampling for the first time since I cropped them.

My biggest fear about my high'dea is that there would be a funky hot spot in the middle of all your plants. But even when running vertical that isn't an issue. This is almost like vertical... but it's hoodless horizontal, which I have never seen done, here on RIU or anywhere else. But you keep your bulbs at mid height to the plants, just like vert. I'm think I'm over explaining.... stoned

You may be over explaining, but most of us understand. I actually have one spot in my veg box where the light is towards the middle of the plant. I'm constantly changing the positions of the plants, so I haven't seen any noticeable results. But the plants seem to be happy!

Personally, if I'm writing a long post, I tend to copy the entirety of the text I typed up. I've had that happen to me a few times and it sucked. Missed a few updates because of that kind of frustration

Lookin forward to the next picture update!

gg.jpgbuilt this in a hour to house some seeds that where not doing good in a pipe being hand watered a few times daily. 2 days later they look better and have roots.j.jpgsome dirt moms just transplanted and 1 of my fans screwed to the floor. It sits to close to the floor so i have to make some type of wood or steel base. They help keep me cool and the best part is ,there remote control. That should help if I need 2 spray.photo%202g.jpg

better pics. more room than i imagined. i think you are gonna be fine. im thinking i woulda lined the joists with some reflective or white paint actually. very nice. growing below the house is good in soo many ways. as long as you can deal with the humidity. running 1000's probably solves it lol. im excited for you. good job i think i said this early but i expect high yields
