600w MH/HPS LST grow journal: the cheese PICS

Awesome grow so far man, I was tempted with trying out an LST grow in my tent but I decided on a sea of green considering I'm still a first time grow and figured Id just mess it up. One input I do have is I have been veggin and flowering my girls under both a MH and HPS and have seen fantastic results (one problem is the tent does tend to get hot if you're not using aircooled hoods). So if you can swing the dual lights in your tent (altho 2 600s for a 4x4 is overkill, but theres a significant difference) I would recommend it. You can check out my tent grow as Im running a dual HPS/MH set up and have been early on. I stated veggin with just the MH but added my HPS and saw dramatic increases in stoutness and general bushiness, which has continued into my flowering stage. Again really really nice grow!
Hey thanks a lot man! I wish I coud use a duel spectrum for the flowering but budget/space and heat issues are holding me back. Sorry for the lack of updates recently RUI its been a long "interesting" week.. but heres some pics of the girls! They've really started to reach out ive noticed. In the last couple days they've grown noticebly taller and they are starving for nutrients! I fed over the full dose last time and they LOVED it lol. Stay posted for future updates!

how would you resolve over crowding? by cutting fan leafs?
Nah i never cut fan leaves off. I mean if you're too late into flower then there isn't much you can do, or if its ridiculously way over crowded you cant do much either - but in his case, based on the pics, they aren't going to overcrowd especially after another week of veg and if they did i'd fix it by heavy pruning. The way i do it now is i have this canopy, and there are probably about 10-15 colas making up the canopy per plant. What i'll do is follow each of the branches down from the top and cut off all of the side branches coming off the stem which will never reach the canopy. So that each branch has one massive cola at the top and no side branches below raping resources only to produce barely smokable fluffy popcorn bud. To be honest it's something i'd recommend even if you didnt have an overcrowding issue. This was the mistake i made in my last grow, which was why i was slightly disappointed with the bud size. This time around i pruned off all the lower branches that were never going to reach the light (which i did about a week into flower - you clearly do not want to be doing this later on in flower) so that each stem only has to focus on one massive cola at the top, and now i have the biggest buds ive ever grown - and a shitload of them - and no shitty popcorn bud from all the growth below the canopy.

in the end when he wants to flower is really up to him
Of course it is. I was just suggesting he leave it a bit longer because he will get more bud.

bigger plants does not in a lot of cases mean more bud
If you have enough room, big enough pots, and enough light - then i beg to differ. How can a bugger plant not produce more bud than a smaller plant?

i agree with pruning off some of the lower branches but not all of them unless doing a scrog, or lollipopping. and when you cut all the lower growth you also are cutting away alot of leaf witch creates the buds.
and as for bigger plants meaning yield like i said in most cases its not the truth, cuz in most cases people dont have every thing perfect. like if you flowered a 3 foot tall plant under 1 600 then your yield would be way lower then if you flowered at 1 foot do to most the plant not receiving light, and in this case a bigger plant does not mean more bud. most people dont have huge grow rooms with 400o or more watts of light. even if flowering under 1000 watt lights you should not let the plants get over 6 ft tall.

Ya im hoping they make it, I can already see their roots filling the container so hopefully the strain can handle it! Everything is really starting to strech, and pistills are shooting up everywhere! Ill post some pics tonight when the lights are on

PROBLEM!!! I was doing some work with my girls this morning and found some brown spots on a leaf. So far onyl one plant is showing these spots and they are on just one of its leaves (I checked all over her to try and find others) but I was hoping someone could give me some insight on this issue. Im assuming its PH imbalance considering I ran out of PH up last time I watered so im hoping this is all it is as I have picked up a huge bottle of ph up (not running out again anytime soon) and flushed with water (PH 6.8 ) +rep if you can give some feedback! The first three pics are of the top and the fourth is of the bottom.
