I understand your point and thanks for the advice, but I never have or had that problem. Tops are covered to keep the algae and pest away. I run a top drip system not a ebb and flow. This is my grow journal where I'm documenting my grow, I'm growing the way I know how to and the way that was taught to me. And it works with amazing results. So to each is own:peace:

so as the light /air hits any roots or nutes you will start running into issues that is why most to every system is in-closed and why roots grow in the ground in darkness if u get away with no root rot green mold or funges you will deff lose 25-35% of your harvest due to roots being in the light its simple growing maths lol

Have you ever actually grown in rock wool cubes? The roots don’t go beyond the block...

lolol have u ever used roots xl ?
Yes lol. But not anymore as I don’t see it worth the cost. My yields have gone up more due to environmental changes than due to adding $130+ rooting hormones...can’t speak for anyone else tho. Only time they’ve gone beyond the block is when I put them on coco mats and plants still did fine.

Lol so which is it? Do the roots blow out the bottom and get root rot, or is it a giant root ball mess in the cube? Because you’re contradicting yourself.

I’ll just assume you’ve never used rockwool before...

Hey Rob333 this is my grow journal where I'm keeping track of my grow, but why do I get the feeling you're one of those internet trolls trolling my shit. I never asked for your input or opinion nor do I care wtf you got to say. I checked your profile, you started a grow journal but only had day 1 in it. You're supposedly a dwc grower, but you have no proof of any of your grows. Of course if you are a dwc grower you're gonna get a rootball with your little 1.5 rockwool cube. You apparently have never used 6" cubes or know wtf you're talking about. This forum is for me to keep track of my grow and hopefully help out others that grow similar to my setup. :peace: out

thats the spirit right there Delta! plenty of knuckle draggers here so its good you can give it to em both barrels! there's cool folk here like me to though so it makes it all worthwhile, hope your grow kicks on, ive got 3 different Animal Cookies hybrids in seed form to be used in outcrossing(pollen chucking) sessions later, keen to see your Animals come along!

Right on man, I hate dealing with people like that. I've been out of the game for a while, but I ain't no idiot and I think I'm doing pretty good especially using 630w cmh from the start. I'll post pics and give updates twice a week. Thanks for watching:bigjoint:

Started Week 2 of flowering last night.
I lowered the light the other day and as of last night I had to raise it back up because the plants keep on getting bigger and bigger and bigger. My Sea of Green is becoming an Ocean of Green. Temps have gone up to 83°F because of the hot weather that's starting to go up and will be around for a couple of weeks. I should be ok, I run my lights from 7pm to 7am. RH has been between 36% and 40%. With the lights off the humidity has been a steady 42%. Since the plants weren't that big to defoilate when they vegged for 2 weeks I'll have to wait till next week once I'm in week 3 of flowering. I'm wondering of it's to late to lollipop them, I'll start doing some research. I just hope they don't get any taller, they started at 5" and now they're 25". I may be adding another net to the top of the canopy, that way if I have to bend the colas away from being to close to the light I won't have a problem. The water temp in my reservoir is now 72.3°F with a pH of 6. I'm still feeding twice a day for 2 minutes and they're drinking about a 1/2+ litter every feed. Went through 10+ gallons in a week.

The nutrients I am using for week 2 of flowering are;
GH Floranova Bloom
GH Rapid Start
GH Koolbloom
GH Diamond nector
GH Floricisious plus
GH Flora Blend
GH Armor Si
GH Calimagic
CE Sugaree

Fantastic looking grow real nice and clean, really cant wait to see how this grow gets on. Would you be up for some leaf removal not only will it reduce how quick they stretch it will encourage more budsites, increase airflow and reduce humidity at the same time.

Very interested in this style of grow as im doing a grow in a diy cab with two layers and once this run is over and I learn a few things that work or don't work the chances are im going to be growing in a similar way as yourself reference the rockwool.

If you get a chance have a little peek in my diary listed in my sig and see what you reckon.

Cheers

Thanks man, how do I find your grow journal on here? I'm still trying to figure out all the functions of RUI.

Day of 10F
So last night I trimmed close to 20% on each plant, I may do more in a week. I had to carefully rearrange 12 of the 16 plants with the net screen around them, what a pain in the ass that was. These plants are ranging from 27" to 31", way bigger than I expected.:wall: I raised my light back to as high as it can go, if they keep getting bigger I'm going to have to bend my tops at an angle. I'm trying to maintain 20" clearance. My tallest ones are showing signs of some heat stress, but not to much. On my next run I'm definitely vegging after one week, these Animal Cookies are definitely stretchers. I added a 3rd feeding time. They are really starting to drink a lot more than what I posted the other day. I also now drip for 3 minutes; once at 3 hours in, once at 6 hours, and once at 9 hours in.
