6500k instead of 3500k for flowering?

whould would the effect of using 3 27 watt and 3 60 watt 6500k cfls for flowering? I know your supose to use the 3500k for flowering but im just wondering

those are just the "recommended" colour temps,,,, light is light and if its a question of using the 6500 K or not using them,,, then use them,, because the light will then cover a larger surface area

and by the sounds of it you are not into going HID,, and thats fine,, but when it is an option go with HID
 
so using 6500k for flowering wont effect the bud that much? I know i worded the question messed up on my first post i wasnt right headed:hump:

like he said, the red light is recommended, but if you dont have an option, then i guess your using 6500k, just not the best for flowering, as blue is best for veg growth

FYI,, i am almost positive that 3000k is more in the orange spectrum... red is conductive to stem growth,, and this is the spectrum that incandescent give off

just thought id mention it,, but otherwise what you say is true,, blue light is better than no light...

and no, you wont be able to tell the difference,, the yield may be slightly lower than if you would have used the proper colour temp but not enough for you to really spot a difference
 
2700k is best for flowering. 6400k for veg.

they are the exact spectrums. it doesnt have to be those though. u could use 3000k for flowering.

just as long as its giving out the right color spectrum. closer u get to those the better
 
$16 for 2 42W bulbs isn't much of a deal. Not enough of a deal that I'd buy those instead of bulbs in the proper kelvin range. 42W CFLs are like $9 each at most stores anyway.

And why would they have a sale on 6500k bulbs, but not 2700k bulbs?
 
you can grow and flower with your lights, but if you use the correct temp for the light that is around the 2700k you will get better end results, maybe not much of a difference in weight, but the quality will be different.

Think of it, if you have better and more healthy food, better sunlight (rather then a fluoro in office) you will be more healthy, you too can live on without proper light and proper food but not as good, just like the plant. It will yield better and give more healthier and better testing buds using correct color temps.
 
i've got 2 x 2ft 18w, 3500k for vegging. the rooms a small triangle room (3 sides are 850mmx850mmx1400mm and 1500mm tall) all coated in mylar. Does this sound ok? Also i got a 400w hps. should i start wiv the flo's then finish off the veg wiv the 400 before goin to 12/12??

any help helps :)

its better to give them 6 3k bulbs. add 1 daylight just incase they need alittle from the other end of the spectrum
