Oh and a neighbour called the cops, so last week I had a fun conversation with them. Once they saw that there was the legal limit of 4 plants And I was well within the law They relaxed. we ended up talking about how I got them so big and other growing questions, and locals that had more then the limit. I am now glad I could have the conversation, 3 years ago I would have been arrested. #IloveCanada
What douche bags! I’d grow them even bigger next year and see how they feel!

You have gorgeous plants... I don’t want to be critical, only helpful.. I wouldn’t change your style but next year I’d consider some early finishing strains bc I think previous comment is right that you are kind of behind in flowering. Have you considered light depot? My understanding is that most of Canada is low humidity so good chance you’ll be ok, I’m actually hoping for a frost or two for some of mine to compare. Hope you finish strong

I will be buying a clear tarp for later in September to cover all the plants, plus I will put my box fans underneath to help air flow. I’m in this till the end haha

So after about 50gals of fan leaves the plants have been defoliated and have really started to flower. I am expecting a very late harvest unfortunately but I will still push for the best I can and plan for the worst

We had a lot of cold wet weather so this week I’m building a temporary tarped structure over them to keep any rain off them till harvest. I will be mounting some 18” box fans under the tarp to help with air flow. The same ones I have for the drying room.

I also gave them a feeding of liquid fertilizer. I find the top dressing doesn’t keep up so I give them some extra oomph:

How much light are your plants getting from your home I know you had successful harvest in the past but you might wanna look into limiting the light they get from the house.

The branchs of the plants facing the house turned just as early as the side facing the evening sun. I think it’s more due to the fact they came from seedlings not clones and the genetics are late harvesting plants. I try to avoid to much light leaking to prevent hermaphroditism.

But thank you for the idea, something to think about improving next year, I will make more of an effort.

I got a light dusting of snow earlier this week but a low just above freezing at 33 F. Plants weathered it well. Glad to see some buds going best of luck.

Not to be a Debbie downer, but with past experience (saw 4lbs of product die one night) the plant above the soil is really hardy and will withstand minor freezes (0 to -2 C) repeatedly but it's the roots that can't take a freeze. Your 65 gal pots are large and that's good, but it's not the same as in the ground. I'm rooting for you. Those are beautiful plants.

Ok so, I’ll look into laying some square bales of straw around the bases, I’ll even put my area heaters outside if I need to.

So quick update:

I will be harvesting the plants in 3weeks, Canadian thanksgivings. One week after being tarped, the plants are budding up nicely . We had some cold weather but now we have a week of warmth so they are soaking it up

Your plants look amazing, youve done very well, but they will not be ready to harvest by thanksgiving.

You also mention being within your legal right to have the plants and that youve beat the neighbours, just because you fufill the 4 plant rules does not mean your legal, there is still very strict rules on the weights your allowed to possess, and the way the law is currently written it is not simply how much you have in jars/bags that counts, even growing living flowers count towards this weight. Did you also know your only allowed to grow seeds obtained through OCS store, legally cannot grow any other strains, how can they prove it? They simply ask for proof you purchased some...

Best of luck, just aadvice, be careful the neighbours dont blab to someone who actually knows the law. Thats a big garden

Looks great, nice work, mine are under plastic right now too, we had frost a few times out west. I’m expecting late October as well, I have a heater ready.

My temps hit -2 one night and I had a heater out, next 7 days aren’t going below 5-6 so I hope to be safe another week before I have to bring heater back out. Might need to add some fans for the heat and humidity if anything.
