ok basicly have a room seperated 1room is for flowering and has 3 400watt lights over 6plants.... and now we are going to put 6 new cuttings in.was wondering if say 2 400watt lights would be enough light for 6 plants until they are 6week old and ready to flower.

not much info added.. maybe why you havent gotten more responses....
how tall are you going to want them b4 they go into flower room? What strain? What size containers, and what type of 400W light HSP, MH, CFL, Floros, or heaven forbid Halogen. More info would help as you might get a slightly dif answer for each setup/lightsystem

if your lights are mh or hps i would say yes. even flauros could pull it off

Yea what kine lights are you using if there HPS you should have way more plants but then I would doubt that they are HPS you electricity bill would be outragious for just six plants.

basicly the space is big enough for them to grow like 4ft anyway.so size isnt a matter.its just when the other 6 are done we will be putting these 6 from the veg room into the flowering room

they are 400watt HPS lights. was just wondering if there powerful enough to keep 6 plants which will grow till about 20inch before flowering

5lights
400watt hps lights

6cuttings in baby room
6plants in flower room that have been in the baby room for 6weeks

a 400 watt hps delives enough light to efficiently light a 4'x4' area so if oyu overlapped the light beams to sort of form an M then you should be efficiently covering about 6'x4' area and you could fill that supposed area with plants

Actually a 400 watt hps illuminates a 3 x 3 area....600 watt - 4 x 4 .... 1000 watt - 5 by 5

If your plants to flower would be medium in size and indica pure or indica dominan, I say most definately especially if your walls can reflect light i.e. flat white paint, mylar, panda film, or foylon. My setup is this fluoros and cfl's for clones/seeds, a 400 W MH for vegetation and sustaining mothers, and a flower area with 2 600 W HPS that flowers 6 medium to large size plants.

all is coverd with mylar :).... im sure 400watt shud be enuff for 6 small plants.i may just buy some CFLs just to kick it up abit to

400 watts if definentally enough for your 6 plants just keep the light 18-24 inches above the plants, tossing in some CFLs would just raise you electricity bill and temp in the room.

maybe Im the only one but why all the HPS in the veg room why not MH and HPS in the flower room... even though you could pull it off with HPS you'd prob get more yeild and healthier plants with MH in veg and HPS in flower... jmho

It all depends on your reflector, but for the most part you are correct. Also, I fully flower 15 plants under 1000watts, and they get big. I would say that with 3 400 watt lights, I would be growing atleast 18 plants. That's just me, so having 6 under 3 400watt lights, seems like they should be very happy and produce a shit load. Good luck
