7 ft ceilings... How tall can i grow em???

I have 7 ft ceilings, and im curious how tall i can grow the plants safely....

Running Undercurrent system 8 gallon buckets

I would like to know for 600w lights and also 1000w lights.....without burning the plants

I've got a DIY UC with 8 ft ceilings and after vegging for a month
and the plants being just over 16" my Indicas stretched to about 3'
and my sativas stretched from 4'-5' and this is with 8 plant sites
under 2x 600w hps. I definitely grew them out WAY to much for
the amount my lights can penetrate, with 1000w I feel I'd get that
edge I needed and would recommend 1kw if you haven't already gotten
your lights.

Are you considering running vertical lighting like many UC users do? If you
are you can probably get away with MUCH taller plants and go for trees.
Otherwise if you're using horizontal lighting I think it depends on your light
intensity and plant site spacing.

In all honesty though, with the exception of some serious lighting or heavy
lollipopping, you'll probably hit you lights penetration limit before you run into
a height restriction.

1000w 4 feet, leaves you 8 ' for the light with cool tube less if no tube

600w 3 feet, leaves you 6' for the light with cool tube less if no tube

you can get a 7 foot plant easily if you use one 13W CFL

Im thinking 1000w would result in better quality and yield.....But with only 7ft to work with, after you subtract the 1ft bucket i only have 6ft. Then the Light is another 1ft in height itself, so that leaves me with 5ft....however u need atleast a few feet in order not to burn the buds.

I feel like with 1000w lights, i couldnt grow plants any taller than 3ft before harvest without burning them with the 1000w 2 feet above them? and im not even sure if thats enough?

what do you guys think would be better, 600w or go for the 1000w?

Depends on your cooling too. If you have good ventilation and a cool tube you could almost touch the plants with the light.

Ill be running vented hoods, not cool tubes
