I dont think that is the problem you have what 720 cfm's and a very good fan, a curve or two is not the trouble straightening your exaust wont do it, you need to introduce cooler air into your grow tent from outside it or you simply need to get more air flow from your intake it has to be just about even in order to achieve the proper vacum to pull air in..i hope this helps..PeaceIf I pull my tent farther from the window this ducting can be straighter, would that help?
I looked into conditioners and they are way too much for me right now.
Thanks guys!
Do you have a cool tube you are using or are you pulling through a carbon filter? if you are then you are going to lose some of those cfm's but not to much and with that say you are at 600 actual cfm's after your filter and cool tube then you will need a intake of at least 500 cfm or so to create the vacum you need i as i said i use both passive and direct intake and i use the cheap shit well not really cheap in make up but in cost they actually work very well and two should do you just fine..here they are..I just closed my tent for the first time today as I had a fan from outside pointed on them all day, I will go to a hydro store tomorrow and see about getting an intake fan, do you have any reccomendations or pics of one you might suggest? I bought a spray bottle to spray water in the room because the humidity was at around 30, my buddy told me that when I get them in bigger pots in a few days they will hold more water and it will be more humid. Will this help temps at all?
Thanks
mine is relatively quiet i run it in my bedroom at night and it doesnt bother me.when i run lights off i dont have anything going in my grow room but the circulating fan and its low speed..so i wouldnt think so..but its up to you..My tent is 4x4x6.5
I believe I have the daystar ac hydrofarm hood.
No Carbon filter yet but come time to flower in a few weeks I will get one.
Thanks a lot stink budd I will try to get an 8 inch axial fan tomorrow.
Should I get a speed controller for it as well?
How the hell did i miss the grow tent in a closet? Wow never even seen that one coming!Good catch oh really..NO NO NO. From the looks of it you are in a closet using a grow tent. (sorry if i missed it) I had a grow cabinet in a closet and I was using a 250hps and had temps soaring to 95 degrees. I could do nothing to lower the temps. Until I made a cooltube. GO HERE https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/279224-diy-cool-tube.html .
. . . then exhaust your hot air using your fan OUTSIDE you grow vicinity. you have a high powered fan. do you have an attic above you? if you do then exhaust there. DO NOT exhaust right outside your tent. your intake should be passive. just a hole in the bottom of your tent. there should be one.
. . .if that does not work then you can freeze gallon jugs of water and set them in your tent by the intake. this is like an A/C. I did it with (3) one gallon jugs they fit easily into the freezer and i put a drip pan under all of them for condensation drip.
Doing the cooltube helped the most. You will be amazed if you just follow the directions. I did and I still use the cooltube and i grow in a room. you can get the plants inches away without heat stress. I did max out the efficiency using a 400 watt hps and cooltube. I noticed the plants didn't like the light intensity so i backed off to 8 inches that seemed fine.
. . .also i have lately been dropping my light down and doing a vertical setup. and with a 600hps i can do 12 inches without a cooltube. you should try it. (note) my new temps are way low because of my room. you still have to fight the 2nd floor syndrome. unless you can get the ambient air to be 70 degrees constant your tent temps will be hard to control. Peace out.
