8x4 - Gorilla Glue, Bruce Banner and Strawberry Cough

Hello fellow growers!!

This is my first grow journal and most certainly not the last.

As you could see in title before you clicked this is a 8x4 grow tent. This time around I’m growing Gorilla Glue (1), Bruce Banner (1) and Strawberry Cough. Let me explain why only 5 plants in such a big space before someone flames me below for it. I had stated with 9 seeds. Three of each strain. One didn’t germinate and the other 3 were so small and stunted that I got rid of them. I figured why waste my time on them when they will yield me literally next to nothing.

I’ll be using advanced nutrients (booooooo) for this run. I have been doing a lot of research lately and have discovered the embarrassing marketing scam that these nutrient companies run. I’m using these because I have them left over from other grows and don’t want to waste them since I already paid for them. I’ll probably be moving to HGV Nutrients if I stick with DWC. Oh yea! I’m doing a DWC grow.

Today is day one of flower. As you can see in the photos below I trimmed all the lower growth and large fan leaves blocking bud sites. There is certainly a fancy term for that but I have no clue what’s it called all I know is it works . I have done lots of LST and some topping along the way. I can’t do much more LST because these buckets don’t allow it once the branches have grown out to a certain point.

PH - 5.8
PPM - 900 - 1000

looking forward to a great harvest. Please feel free to comment. Cannabis is meant to be shared as we all know:bigjoint:

I wanted to provide a little more info on the grow. The lights I'm using are Scynce LED 650W. I have the light spectrum set to flower and for the first week of flower I have the lights at 70% intensity. The grow room is kept at 75 to 78 degrees and the RH was at 60% for veg and I have lowered it to 50% to 55%.

Today four of the five plants are already showing their pistol hairs.

Before I flipped to flower the tallest branches that I had were around 12" to 13" from the top of the bucket. Now after 5 days of flower the tallest ones are between 16" and 17". Stretching nicely. As long as the don't grow within 12" of my lights I'll be happy.

Week 2 off flower

Sorry for the late update this week, I've been busy with work. The stretch is still in full swing. Most of the tops have almost doubled in length from when I made the flip. I have been keeping my temps Between 75F and 80F and the humidity is still at 40% to 50%. I got a RO filter and put it in this weekend. I have now been mixing the plant's new bloom nutrient solution with the RO water. I wasn’t happy with the water coming out of my tap. It was around 200ppm and 250ppm out of the tap. The way I look at it is that it’s 200ppm less that I could have to feed my plants. It was also taking a lot of PH down to get to PH to a level I was happy with. The new formula that I have been mixing in the 5 gallon bucket is as follows:

4 gal water

15ml Sensi Bloom Part A

15ml Sensi Bloom Part B

10ml Big Bud

10ml Bud Candy

10ml Rhino Skin

10ml Voodoo Juice

7.5ml B-52

7.5ml Cal-Mag

I mix this for the plants once per week. The solution clocks in at 850ppm to 900ppm and I adjusted it to 5.8 ph.

Day 15 of flower. Had a small hiccup with one of the Strawberry Coughs. The air stone came unhooked from the air pump when I was changing the nutrient solution I assume. It was like unplugged for several days before I noticed that the plant wasn’t looking so hot. Once I got it plugged back in to the pump i immediately checked the ph and it had risen to 7.5 ‍♂. I would think that it was in nutrient lockout for a few days and with some lower leaves yellowing and slow growth compared to its sisters I think that’s a safe bet. Shit happens. she seems back on track now but she missed out on 4 days or so of growth. I’m assuming that it’s going to affect her yield some what.

Day 22

Flowers and trichomes are rapidly forming. I made one change to the nutrient solution. For the rest of the grow I'm going to be adding 7.5ml (might bump this up to 10ml next week) of AN Overdrive.

Does anyone else that does have issues with their ph going up? My plants in veg and in flower especially go up a lot in ph within the 24 hours of me swapping out their nutrient solution. Which I do weekly. Wanted to see if any other fellow DWC growers are experiencing this.

Day 36

The girls are getting fatter each day. With 3 to 5 weeks left I'm getting worried that these branches are not going to be able to hold all these buds up.

Tomorrow will be 8 weeks of flower. These girls probably have about a week or two left before they get chopped. can't see how frosty they are in the pictures (probably need to get a better camera) especially the Bruce Banner. I had to add a lot of support to one of the Strawberry Coughs because it became so heavy that the plant had fallen over.

Nice plants. I'd hold off chopping as long as you can. I grew bruce last year and the yield was ridiculous and needed much support. I decided it wasn't really tent friendly but the smoke was nice and plentiful
