government will take at least 60%
so from a billion... you'll be left with somewhere around 400mill
After taxes and taking the cash payout, you end up with about a third. Still, nine figures should be enough lettuce to hold you for at least a minute.

And remember the full amou

Well, we are both wrong. 6 states have no state tax and you are not required to pay state tax: Fla, N.H., Tenn., Texas, S. Dakota, and Wash. 2 states exempt lottery winnings, PA and Calif.. So, it all depends on where you live.
i do not think so it matters where lottery head office is also they will in fact tax the shit out of you Guaranteed Also family recently won a lottery its takes weeks to get paid interview ..
Government back ground checks if you owe any child support // taxes that all gets paid before you even get a sniff of money ,, let alone bank holding period of 10 days etc from day of winning it took 5 weeks to see money
But this bog power ball you will never receive full payment but rather monthly installments ,, you will be dead before you get Full pay out

No, if you live and bought the ticket in an exempt state, there will be NO state taxes. That's a fact.......

The winning numbers, announced at 10 p.m. Wednesday night, were 4, 8, 19, 27 and 34, with Powerball 10.

At least one Jackpot-winning ticket was announced that evening, as the California lottery confirmed a winner out of Chino Hills.
