A Couple Questions - Started Flowering

Hey all,

Can you guys help me identify if these are herms or not? I have only dealt with male/herm plants once before so my eye for them isn't that great. I know that females have banana shaped genitalia while the males have balls containing pollen. About 5-6 out of 9 of my bag seed plants are showing signs of both... At least I think. Some are noticeably balls but others are like halfway between balls and bananas and hard to tell which one it is.

On most plants there is only like one ball to every 10 so if these are herms, should I just pinch off the balls and I'd be safe? I've heard of people doing that but idk how well it works or if it's really worth trying if it's going to risk pollinating the rest of them.

Here are some pictures, sorry about the quality, but my camera sucks. Hopefully you can see enough:

Thanks,

Okay thanks that helps a lot.. A couple of mine look like #2 got that sprout/sperm lookin shape so probably got a lot of herms/males, but thats normal for bad seed plants cuz they are the result of herm plants most of the time and share their parent genetics, right?

Also, while on the topic, I've heard u can force a herm to be female by clipping the balls off sometimes. Is there any truth in that?

it wont force the plant not to hermie but it will lessen the chance of pollination if you cut off the pollen sacks, just because a blonde dyes her hair dosent mean she is any smarter, she is always a blonde.

Okay so I'm only on day 2 of flowering, but already one of the nodes on one of my plants looks like the High Def. picture above that shows a male.. it's like a cone/oval shape slightly, with little hairs coming out of it... Here's a picture:

Male.jpg

The circled part is where the two little hairs are coming out... So it definitely looks like the male picture Baka posted above. But everyone is telling me to wait and not to worry since I'm only on day 2 of flowering nothing can happen. If so, why is the male sack already stickin its little pollen hairs out lol =/

Thanks,

Looks OK so far, but still early yet.
This is what to look for.-Female.View attachment 2521410

Actually, the bottom picture is a female. The first pic looks female as well but those "hairs" you see on the stem are not what people mean when they refer to "hairs" on a female cannabis flower. The hairs are pistils, used to catch polled from a male and grow a seed inside the calayx. The calyx or "seed pod" is what the pistils (hairs) emerge from.

to the OP.

Those are stipules and are found on both sexes. Normal plant growth.

Google.

Man, you could really wreck a perfectly good crop by asking questions in here...

Ok that's good news.. Maybe I have more females than I thought then. I will have to check again today on all of em. I think I definitely spotted a couple males but I wanna give it a little time before I just go rippin shit off the plants or killing them when I'm not positive, since it's only day 3/4 of flowering.

Thanks for the clarification!!

Found one male for sure so far (day 9 of flowering):

IMG_1012.jpg

So I hacked that today.. A couple others look like they got little balls so far, but never in bunches yet so I'm thinking they might still be developing female genitalia... Gonna give the others a couple more days to be sure before I put em under the knife.

Anyone know anything useful to do with leaves from a male plant that only flowered for 9 days?

Thanks,
