A Different Angle to the Homosexual Debate

It's not just you. When I used to turn my webcam on in chat rooms, guys did it to me so much I would ask them first if they were naked before I clicked view. I had one guy lie to me and say he wasn't so I got on the mic and made fun of his dick.
Can't! Stop!! Laughing!!! I love you, Stoney! Well, ya know... in a friendly kinda way, of course. ;)

You and I would have had a blast together back when I used to frequent Stickam.com... oh, indeed we would have! :hump:

I always had the rooms in stitches, because I didn't tolerate the horny trolls coming in and sending me PMs (and the PMs were text only). I'd just ridicule them over the mic while copying and pasting their ridiculous "charming" remarks in the room's text chat window. They rarely stayed in the room long enough for me get the chance to kick them.

you know what i sometimes wonder? if gay people are mother natures way of controlling the population...or at least one of the ways...and there wouldnt ever be a time when everyone was gay...but sometimes i think maybe it is genetic and its a way to naturally control the populace. im also kinda baked and rambling...sorry lol

Doesn't have to have a reason. We know sexual identity is not all genetics but is due to chemical signals by various hormones during certain age. We know this from people with many of the various intersex conditions. That deals with the very basic do you feel like a boy or girl. It seems quite reasonable that sexual preference fits into that as well. These things are not choices. No heterosexual has ever been able to describe to me when they first chose to be interested in the opposite sex.

To answer OP's question of why its so important is because if you're religious, it's hard to reconcile their God that creates man including homosexuals and then punish them for being that way. Their infallible book tells them the act that gays perform is a sin. This is incompatible with something that isn't a choice. These people can never be convinced with any amount of empirical evidence.

I love you, too, Kat! I used to have 'em rolling, too. I got out of the chat thing a long time ago. I used to get on the mic and do my own comedy "stand up"routine. I once got 85 pm's all at once, it was crazy.I tried to answer every pm I got,and I tried to be nice unless they were being a dick. Good times, and it was nice to be flirted with and to flirt. But I learned most of the people you meet aren't real. The internet is kinda like a big role playing game.

I've often thought that, too. Nature is always finding was to kill us off in one way or another.

Well, the people I invited to come post never did, and no real answers were given as to the original question.

So I guess homosexuality is wrong because it's icky...

Well it doesn't really matter I guess...but this is what I think:

First off, I don't think it can be a choice. I mean I've seen stupid people who "choose" to be gay or bi as a fad, but they could never actually do more than kiss the same sex. I mean let's be bluntly realistic here:
Do you really think a guy who just up and said "I'm gay" because they chose to be that way could suddenly get hard for another guy?
One thing that nobody can even try to dispute is that when your attracted to someone, it's just natural. You can say why your attracted to them but when it comes down to it your attracted to some people and other people arent attractive at all to you. (For example your friend gets a new GF/BF and is bragging about how "hot" they are. When you finally see them, there not even remotely attractive to you, even though your friend is head over heals)
My point is there's no way to choose to be attracted to someone, same sex or not. You just are or you aren't. Not to mention the hundreds of other species who engage in homosexual acts. It's natural to me, theres no way for it to be a choice. I'd like to state that as a fact, but I can respect that people see all things in many different ways.

In general though, my opinion of gays is this:
They don't bug me, I feel perfectly comfortable as long as they don't try to hit on me, and to be honest it annoys me when gay guys are really flamboyant.

i dont think it should matter in the debate whether its a choice or not. i think that people use the argument that its natural so that people are better able to understand it. people who are gay, are just gay. they didnt make any sort of conscious choice to be that way, just like i didnt consciously choose to be straight, i just am. but i think they use the argument that its not a "choice" because if people thought that gays *chose* to be gay, then the opposers would say "well then just choose to NOT be gay! there problem solved!" so i think thats why they use that as part of the argument. to make people realize that they're not going to change. but they cant change, its just who they are. but i dont think that things like marriage, and who you can and cant marry, should be a legal issue at all. government should have absolutely no say in who someone can marry. to be perfectly honest..i'd like to see marriage go all together lol. if two people truly love and care for one another and are committed to each other...i dont understand why "marriage" is necessary. i dont understand why you need a legal document to fully commit yourself to another person. and i understand that its an issue with joining finances and health benefits, etc. but the gov. shouldnt be allowed to tell you who you can/cant make a life with. you should be able to choose whoever you want to mesh your finances with. and you should be able to name whoever you want on health benefit plans, and all that...
