A few noob flowering questions :)

hey all so I've had my babies in for 4 weeks now and they're pretty decent size ones getting to the 7th node the others are at 5 and 7 as well I saw that's a good time to flower so I was wondering during flower do the plants still grow in bushieness and height or just the buds? I just put the into their last pot so I want to do it before the roots get too big. I'm hoping for fems obviously but they are bagseed so I just want to know already should I wait for pre flowering? I heard that can be up to another month though thanks guys!!

General rules is 2 to 3 times in height and "bush" from switching to 12/12, till end of final stretch for flower.

Is it safe to assume a growth spurt would take place in the first few weeks of flowering and then reach a plateau and stop growth? Except the development of the flower. It seems to me this is what happens, I am curious.

pretty much your plant is still in veg for the first week after you switch to 12's most strains your going to see less than double in size.

The first couple of weeks on flowering schedule, is the transition period. You will see normal growth. They will continue to grow for about 4 weeks (keep in mind times are strain dependant), putting out bud sites all over. After about 4 weeks and alot of bud formation, you will notice a slowdown. This is when the buds start to fill in and bulk up.

So simply put, yup.
