A few questions about aeroponics?

Okay so i am considering making an aeroponics because it seems probably the best method for best yields minimal plants. So i see these tutorials on people making them but what i don't understand is...

1) How do you start them to you simply plant them in your medium such as some rock and water them by hand till the roots make it through?

2) Are you able to grow lets say 6 plants in one setup the whole way through. I would think the roots would bind or something but i don't know. My first grow was hand watered.

the set up i am referring to is this one..

Have you ever grown hydroponically??,Aero is very unforgiving, with that said as far as starting I always start in those little rockwool cubes, once the seedling has it's first set of true leafs, root(s) are coming out the bottom so that is when you transfer into your system, and yes you can grow all the way. That system is a combination of aero and dwc and very easy to build.

You should probably start out with a water culture system. It's really easy and once you master that you can move up to shit like aeroponics

No i have never grown using hydroponics, i just want to put my money in the best system i can at first. So with aero will i notice frequent problems?

What type of nutes have you had the best experience with?

dont let anyone tell you aero is hard and scary because its not, get some advanced if you can afford, but botanicare is really good and doesnt clog your lines.

There is nothing hard about growing aeroponically but there a lot of things that can go wrong,if your timer goes out,res goes dry, sprayer gets plugged, line gets plugged, power goes out, your plants can die very fast since roots are suspended in air they can dry out very fast killing your plants.I'm not trying to discourage anybody just informing about how much more attention to detail is required when growing aeroponically....and I use the botanicare line nutrients....

thanks you for the reply you guys,
i love this forum good kind people and nice information.

ow.douglas, i have not seen that thread and thanks for the post i am going to start my build very soon. i have a few in soil as we speak but i am hoping to plant some seeds i got now in aero.

Since i only own cfl lifting do you guys think a cloneing aero might be the best, using sea of green. If i do that should i grow my mothers in soil?

I do aero and it is my first grow. I am about a week into Flowering and haven't had many problems.
I have ran out of water twice and my plants felt it but definitely didn't die. I am using the general hydroponics flora series of nutes. I have seen very nice growth.

You can check out my thread if you want to see.

GH products are some of the better retailed products available. When you say run out of water do you mean as in dry? Roots only need be moist not wet or dripping wet, but dry is not good at all.
