Is growing in a clear pot not good? Cuz i heard light isnt good for the roots. Also if my plants are indoors and never get any type of fan on them or air circulation would that have any noticeable effect on my plants? My last question is i topped my plants a few days ago and no new growth is coming out but my fan leaves seem to be getting bigger is there something i did wrong? Im using CFLs by the way 3 5000k 26watts each 1 2700k 13 watts and 1 13watt mini T5

1: Clear is bad, roots need dark. Recomend fixing that asap
2: The fan is used for a couple reasons. One being temp control/air circulation. The other being movement of the plant. As the plant moves about by the airflow it strengthens the stems, stronger stems means the plant can hold more weight, and less you have to tie her up to support bud sites.
3: The plant needs to recoup from the damage caused by topping, it will use its energy towards repairing the damaged site before more growth appears in that area.

Yes, light on root systems is a bad thing, and growth under CFLs will always be slower to come about, than growth under higher lumen outputs of HIDs and these new high-power LED fixtures... Im sure the new shoots will appear soon enough after pruning, just not as soon as it would under better lighting... so, with CFL grows, more patience is needed, and less yields should be expected... Dark containers r always best for "hiding" roots from light... u NEED some air movement to replace quickly depleted CO2 which is necessary in the foliage for photosynthesis to happen, and also to strenghten the structural parts of the plants, i.e., the stems and branches... So, fans and temp control are a MUST have in ANY grow... Just as wind is necessary in outdoor applications...

Yes you definitely want some fans for air circulation, especially if you're in a confined space like a closet or grow tent. Imaginge being locked in an air tight box for hours and hours how would your body feel after a little while? If in a large space like a bedroom with a/c coming in obviously not as important but still a good idea.

As for how much would 83watts of cfl pull, thats anyones guess. There are so many variables. Best thing is to look through threads and see what other people are getting. But I would add more lights as your budget allows. With CFL's you want to get as many as your space can handle and keep them very close to the plants
