A Good Day

i just spotted my first two females, in my first grow ever so today was a good day for me. I'd put up pics but i don't have my camera right now. oh, is it to late to top my plants if there already on a budding schedule. I topped half a week or so ago, and was wondering if it was to late for the rest.

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your first grow. You've made it far enough to have females so it is all good.
Why would you want to 'top' your plants. Tie it, bend it. Topping does not increase yield. Wow did I really say that. Must be stoned. Every one does it. I know I did.
I had a ww that had 8 colas and was a bush. Didn't yeild anymore than the one that had just one cola. I trimmed the bottom 1/3 of that one , twice, as suggested by Al B Fuct in his post How to Get A Harvest Every Two Weeks.
Here's a picture of the clones from those trims. Topping will only give you one clone, stresses the plant and probably will retard maturation.:hump: VV

topping is a good strategy but its more for outdoor growing then indoor.

I think you have it backwards. topping is mostly used indoor to make the plant's height more manageable. While it doesn't increase yield. it does in fact keep the plant a bush instead of a tree(sometimes).

well i'm not to worried about them getting two tall a started 12 and 12 when just over a foot tall. and the ones that i topped actually grew faster afterwards

Congrats on your females. I'll give you an answer to the question you actually asked -

Yes, it's too late - you'll stress them too much if they're already in flowering.

Topping, fimming, pruning, bending, lsting really ought to be done and started in Vegetative growth as should clone taking.

Once the plants enter flowering you want to do all you can to minimise their stress otherwise you may end up with hermies and/or a reduced harvest.

however topping may not be as efficient as some people say, it does send energy back down into the plant so theres always a chance that you may increase your yield...but even if it doesn't, whats the hurt in trying?

i dont care what aywon says about topping ive grown plants topped and not topped and imo topping is really efficent for short fat bushes with a good yeild
i had skunk#1 grow outside and left one untopped and one topped to see what gives the best yeild and i got 27.4 grams dry weight more from my topped plant then from my untopped but this was outside i cant say toomuch for indoors cuase ive never really used topping as and indoor method but it does increase yeild outdoors i know that for a fact.
