A growing problem.

I am almost out of space. I have one plant that is growing much taller than the others. It is so tall now that the light is as hight as it can go and the plant is about 2 inches from it. see pictures. I am only about one week into flowering so I expect more vertical growth. I know I waited a week too long to start flowering but it was unavoidable. I could move the whole rig out of the closet but since I am using CFLs I think the close white walls of the closet reflect a lot of light. I would lose that out in the room, I think l would have to add more lights to make up for the reflected light. I really can't afford to build an enclosure or buy more lights. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to do?

Yeah. Tie everything everywhere to create an even canopy with your light surface. =) GL

Find some general purpose string, maybe some eye hooks or something to tie the sting too... I usually just wrap the string around the stem and tie both end to the same location. stem -> o) <- string

I think I am going to be forced to bring it all out of the closet in a week or so if they dont slow down. I can put it in a corner so there are two walls to reflect light and I will put something else on the other two sides. I currently have 10-26w cfls, 2-42w cfls and 4 40w 4' floro tubes, 504w total. How much more light will I need if I move it out into the room?

You would not need more that what you have. I would suggest a step up to MH/HPS though, it would be more efficient.

Unfortunately I have to finish this grow on what I have. I am a week into flowering. I could add a few more cfls. I will likely upgrade my light setup for my next grow. I think I will use the closet and the lights I have foe clone and mothering. and put a HPS setup in the room for flowering.

Lol, im flowering 17 plants on the same amount of light (CFL and tube combo). Granted, I plan on getting more when they get bigger, but a lot can be done with proper light spacing and reflectors. I also rotate my plants whenever I'm in there.

I wish I could rotate my plants. I have six in a 30 gallon tub, and all of the roots are tangled up together. There are too many plants in the tub. next time I am going to use two 18 gallon tubs with 2 plants each. I think the whole thing will be easier to manage. It would also give the plants some more room. Now they are all bunched together. Made a few mistakes this is my first grow.

Do yourself a favor, and get individual pots for them. 5 gallon buckets are ideal, and can pretty much be pushed together touching and still leave enough room for the plants to grow.
