a lil sketched out

Hey guys, the other day when I was trying to sleep I heard some helicopter noises. So I go outside and I can see far off in the distance a helicopter going over the land and taking pictures, (I say this cause there was a lil white light flashing constantly, about 2-3times between cycles, like click, click, click, wait a sec, click, click, click.) I am alrdy paranoid as fuck so that doesn't help at all. But my main question is if they were taking pictures and such, could I be attracting the heat? I have 400wHPS and 2 4 foot floro's, I plan on buying a 400wMH for vegging real soon, so if I have about 1kwatts in my grow room will I be attracting too much attn? ANyone else have helicopters taking pictures over their land? (It wasn't like directly above or anything I alweays see them out in the distance taking pictures on a huge scale...)

Soo yea.. im pretty sketched out, anything I should lose sleep over?

Your just paranoid probably. Aircraft have strobe lights under them all the time, for the sake of visibility to other pilots / ground crews. Flashes are useless in aerial photography, so it wasn't a flash.

I'm told they have to have warrants to perform thermal scans of houses. To get the warrant, they have to convince a judge that some kind of crime may be taking place. Even then, supposedly they can only see surface temps with those cameras. So they could only see if one persons roof was hotter than another persons roof, which would be indication that they are venting an abnormal amount of heat.

how hot would it have to be for them to pick up your heat?anyone?
they pick up any heat, but to really stand out im not too sure, i know if they want they could get close enough to see if they needed to,

you actually think theyll wait for a warrent? i mean in the states theyll just say they got a tip and get a warrent to raid you,

i mean i know my cities chopper has infrared, nightvision and a big ass search light

Yeah Drizzle is right from what I have read thermal vision has been deemed unconstitutional in the US and a warrant must be obtained. Also I would have to go with the blinking light on the chopper was the light to Identify it to other aircraft.

lol you people actually believe that the cops wouldent do that, just because they need a warrent, you guys are sadly mistaken

While it may be true that some cops may not wait. With a good lawyer you would get off due to no probable cause. Also saying that they got a tip is not PC there are quite a few conditions that a "tip" must meet in order to constitute getting a warrant other wise the case would just get thrown out.

Supposedly they pick up the thermal footprint of the high powered lights, not the ambient temp of the room. So for instance, in a large grow op. they would see dozens of hot spots where the HPS lights were.
