A List of equipment..(good choice?)

Hey,

Below ive got a list of equipment im looking at and why im purchasing it. If you could please comment where i might be going wrong or where i might be better off spending my money i would much appreciate it..

CFL Lights > CFL Grow Lights > High Output CFL Systems - Im looking at the one with the blue envirogrow at £74. Im buying this for when the seedlings are first planted and are growing the whole way through vegetation (when i decide they are big enough).

Grow Lights > Grow Lights > Cool-Star Grow Light - Here im looking at the top one the 400W dual spectrum at £129. I will be using this from they second i decide to start flowering..Is having a dual spectrum what i am looking for? Does it need to be a red Sodium bulb in there? Or does it not matter with that type of light?.

Grow Tents > Budbox Grow Tents > Budbox Small Grow Tent - I am going to be using some attic space so i decide a grow tent is the best way to go about it. So im looking at this tent. Im only looking to grow 1-2 plants to start with so dont think i should need anything bigger..I may invest in a 2nd tent once i have a bit of experience and keep one flowering and one in veg stage..

If you could help me out i would appreciate it...If there is anything above you think i should change and can find it on the site Welcome to Green's Horticulture - Organic & Alternative Gardening Products that would help a lot as i am based in the UK and would rather have that type of equipment easily delievered.

i wouldn't buy a grow tent, but thats because im poor and make everything myself.

lol fair enough..I havent really got the mechanical skills to really design anything myself. Plus i might have to move location as it is a stealth grow. I wont be able to move anything if i build it...But i understand what u saying..

But as for everything else, am i on the right track??

well, the lights seem a fair price for the quality and watt rating, at least the HID anyway. the flourecent i would drop, because you could find an inexpensive alternativeunless you are also using that for veg.

yea i was going to use the CFL stricly for the 18light 6hr dark cycle at the start then switch to the HID..So would that HID be good enough? or would Great Stuff Hydroponics > 400w MaxiBright HPS & MH Grow Light that be better? Whats this inexpensive alternative i could use? thanks for the help by the way, complete noob here and just eager to get started

oh, i guess so.
mine is very ghetto, though, and for being handmade and held together w/ duct tape, im somewhat amazed i can even get 1 yield from it.

to actually answer your question, that hps should be fine for 1 or 2 plants. using a cfl or is fine for veg but is really just a waste of time for flowering. the yield will be smaller, and it will take longer.

kl i get ya'...But would it b beneficial to veg with the CFL's or should i just stick with the one HPS all the way through...Also is that HPS better off for a small set up like that the a HID light?

the cfl doesnt use as much electricity(save $) you need it for veg because it is blusish light( light on the blue side of the visable light spectrum) which the plant needs for veg.
hid is a great flowering bulb. it is powerful, and emits red light(light on the red side of the visable light spectrum) you need red light for flowering.sorry this is quick and sloppy, but im helping noobs all over the place

haha not sloppy at all, im actually understanding what im looking for....One very last question (sorry if im boring you) but that grow box i was looking at was saying that you should get a bigger one if your looking to use higher then a 200w cfl.....Is that a strict guideline or them just trying to get you to bye that next size up?....And what kind of yield do you get in your closet??(sorry make that 2 questions)

i dont think that cfl would damage the tent, as the heat build up is praactically non existant, so it couldnt melt. they claim that cfl is too much for the tent? if any thing you should want as much light per square foot as you can go without going overboard.MY CAPS LOCK IS JAMMED NOW.......... FUCK

EVEN WITH THAIT SAID,I DONT THINK YOU NEED 2OO WATTS FOR THAT SPACE, AS I CAN SPROUT AND VEG. WITH AS LITTLE AS 1 42 WATT CFL.



AS FOR MY ONLY YIELD,I THINK I GOT AROUND 3/8 OZ......

I STILL THINK THATS REASONABLE FOR A 1 FOOTX 1FOOTX 1.5 FOOT BOX.

no they said that a 200W cfl was suitable for that type of tent and if i wanted a more powerful light (When i switch to the HID during flowering) then i need a bigger tent..Surely it would melt or anythin..
