A little bit of bud rot, cut it out and make edibles?

Cut down an OG yesterday and noticed some bud rot inside of the dense colas.

Not planning to smoke, but looking for feedback if it's ok to make oil with them for edibles (the salvaged parts without visual bud rot).

Any thoughts on if these are still salvageable? My thought is:
1. Removed rot
2. Careful drying and monitoring
3. Will decarb in the oven, run through multiple cycles of cooking in oil & freezing
4. Use for edibles

Wondering if this would be considered a risk? The buds were not overwhelmed with rot, just some minor spots. All remove, then the heat from decarb+cooking in oil, will this kill anything of concern?

I think it is safe. I soak them in H2O2, decarb it, dry it further, then do a 100% ethanol extraction. IMO, I probably consume far more live mold spores in everyday food than the dead spores in the extract.

I do make a point to tell anyone that might not want to even have that risk.

Think the spores would die cooking them in oil?

I think they would die in oil. Never too late for a peroxide dunk.

The principal problem with mold spores is getting them in your lungs. Some people are more allergic than others but I don't know if that reaction includes oral ingestion.

The buds are quite dry now, I had them hanging a few days with lots of air flow to make sure they didn't get moldy.

I cut them down, and actually dunked them in lemon/baking soda water, then two clean water dunks to wash off... Grown outdoor so tried to get bugs, caterpillar poo out. Should have added the H2O2 then.

But if I dunk them and run through this again does that do anything to hurt/diminish the THC?

At this point I've looked at them with a jewelers loop and see no signs of anything, but guess that doesn't really mean much.

I think I'd get some Everclear and make oil if you're worried about it.
