a little help please

I toped my plants last night and they have this brown resin looking stuff where i pulled the top off. I dont know if this is good or bad and i am becomeing a little worried as this is my first crop. I have 4 plants vegging now and all are about 7 inches tall. I will hav epics just as soon as i get some batteries for my cam. Any help with this matter would be greatly appritiated

thats normal thay are jus healing 2 tops shold show up in a fiew days

cool, these are the first ones i have got to actually do anything and i want to be able to try to clone them so i thought i would top them to give myself a lil more to work with and when i saw that my heart droped cuz i thought i murdered them, but thank you for the info and i am leavein now to get batteries for my cam so i can post some pics of my set up and hopefully get some feedback on what looks good and what doesn't

for lack of a better excuse, lack of space is why my setup is the way it is, but i dont think its too bad for liveing in my mother-inlaws house. At any rate, i am usein 4 ft "day light bulbs", and a small battery powerd fan for ventilation, and a 30-10-10 fertilizer with a little epsom salt every 2 weeks.
