Comparing Trump to Obama?

That's kind of a no win situation, no?

I mean one of them supported American institutions and the rule of law and left with a 55% approval rating.

And the other one can't even tell his wife the truth about who he stuck his dick in who will never have a 55% approval rating.

You don't see the difference?
I see many differences, my point was that each has a base with strong political confirmation bias. The protection of the party supersedes pretty much everything. So the line of questioning taken by each party in today's hearing is utterly predictable, but still entertaining. YMMV

i'm not finding it predictable....they aren't asking the questions i would be asking..."what did trump tell you to do in this situation? and this situation? did he tell you to lie? did he do business with a foreign power once his campaign started?...what ILLEGAL activities did you engage in at the direct order of donald trump, or any of his children, or employs?...but they want to know if hes going to write a book...or if he expects them to believe him in light of X, Y or Z....they don't want it to end, they don't want it to be over....i feel like the entire government is perpetrating some crime and this is the distraction...tomorrow we'll get up and half the country will be gone, and so will trump, congress, and the senate...all in russia with half the countries gold and all the oil leases....like a bad heist movie...they can get tom cruise to play trump, just stick him in an old "fat bastard" costume from austin powers and spray paint it orange...

They actually did cover all of that.

And Cohen has explained it in great detail.
yeah, he has answered some pointed questions, but they've also wasted a lot of time...they could nail trumps coffin shut today...if the fuckers would just man up and swing the god damn hammer

They can't. Most of the topics are off limits because they're still under investigation either by the Southern District of New York or the Mueller investigation.

What this really is is the beginning of the impeachment process.

It's important that you REALLY pay attention to what they're doing.

Notice how they're asking him, "Who else should we talk to about this" all the time? Those people are going to be subpoenaed within the next week, I guarantee it.

This is day one of the beginning of the end of Donald Trump.

i hope so...i tend to lose what little veneer of sophistication i have when the blood is in the water...i really don't like the feeding frenzy, i just want to shoot him in the head and have it all over...but it won't be over for years...they might impeach him, but the civil suits and federal charges will go on till the old cheeto fart dies...then it'll just get shifted to his foul progeny...
say what you want about the Hammurabic code, it got shit done...today.

The way plea deals work is if the prosecutor catches you making any material misstatement of fact in your allocution or testimony then the deal is off and you get the maximum sentence. This can happen at any time, even after you've served the sentence you pleaded to. That's how know they ain't lying.

And that is exactly how Manafort went from facing 8 years in prison to 24.5 years.

If he had kept his word, he could have been out in time to spend the last few years of his life on the beach.

Now, he'll die in prison.

Cohen strikes me as trying to come clean at this point. He's been in conflicted positions for many years, like anyone trying to protect a con man out of greed. Great example of what a poor judge of character Trump is, or maybe he found just the right level of unscrupulous character needed.

I don't quite understand why Cohen thinks Trump did not want to win the election. That seems to undercut the collusion narrative. Why would Trump care about Wikileaks if he did not want to win? Why pay off Stormy? Why have so many rallies?

When I say conman, I’m talking about a man who declares himself brilliant but directed me to threaten his high school, his colleges, and the College Board to never release his grades or SAT scores.

As I mentioned, I’m giving the Committee today copies of a letter I sent at Mr. Trump’s direction threatening these schools with civil and criminal actions if Mr. Trump’s grades or SAT scores were ever disclosed without his permission. These are Exhibit 6.

The irony wasn’t lost on me at the time that Mr.Trump in 2011 had strongly criticized President Obama for not releasing his grades. As you can see in Exhibit 7, Mr. Trump declared “Let him show his records” after calling President Obama “a terrible student.”

He needed Russian disinfo to bolster his attack on Clinton, without it he had nothing but Wall and Mexican rapists. What he really needed was to bolster his image in the hopes of getting more freebies from his daughter, whom he describes as “a piece of ass”

If she is so successful, how come her last name is still 'Trump' and not Kushner? She's riding high on the family name alone and that's all she will ever know. Her image should be the poster for 'Dumb Blond'.
