a veg/clone box in progress

just a few pics of the box ill be using for veg/clones.
its 16"w x 15"d x 20"h, a bit under 3 cubic feet. its a fairly solid box but the rear and floor are only 3mm ply so its easy to cut into.
the fan is just there for show atm, ill be using a 120mm fan for the exhaust in the top corner and a few holes in the floor for intakes. the 120mm fan i have is about 80cfm so should provide a good flow of air.
the light is a 125w 6400k CFL(2 for $50 off ebay). for now its just screwed to the old shelf rail but ill be making it adjustable when i find the right bits of scrap. im also in the process of making a reflector for it, just a basic batwing type thing out of scrap.
ill be painting the insides white rather than trying to find some mylar stuff, the paper is just there for effect atm.
itll probably be a few weeks till i finish it but ill post some more pics as i do stuff to it.
should work ok for 2-4 plants i rekon.

Nice deal on the CFL. Could you by chance link me to the EBay seller? Im looking to purchase the exact same thing, and the best price ive found was $50 for just one of those. Maybe it was a bigger size, dunno.

they look and feel cheaply built but they are cheap, they come packed well and are bright enough to hurt the eyes though.

What is the Kelvins on your light?

its a 6400k, dunno how many lumens it puts out, couldnt find any specs on the net.

Sweet. 6400K is what the local hydroponics shop guy was wanting to sell me. I have 6500K. Both good for seedlings, cuttings, veging. I'm sure you already know that lol. Peace

ok been a while but heres a bit of an update on the box
still havent installed an exhaust fan but its been doing ok without one for the time being and just had the door slightly ajar. once i get these 2 plants out and its just the clones in there ill fit an exhaust fan since summer is coming and it will need it with the temps we get here. the box does heat up a fair bit when the ambient temps are high. ive only got the one 92mm pc fan in there for circulation at the moment.
ive ended up covering the top and walls with the shiny silver chips/crisps packets and chocolate wrappers, youll notice a bit of a recycling theme going on in there. this stuff works a lot better than the white paper i had up at the start. i was just going to paint the insides white but this stuff was free.
the light itself seems to be working pretty good, ive got the 2 plants plus 3 clones in there at the moment with plenty of room for a few more clones. our mothers will be growing outdoors so this box will be just for starting and vegging clones once these plants are put in to flower.
