Luckily for those of us living in medicinal use states, Obama's stance on using federal resources to seek out and prosecute medicinal users is that it shouldn't be done. As long as users and dispensaries/clubs are in compliance with state medicinal laws Obama has said that federal resources will not be used to seek out and prosecute these users/providers.

It's thinking like this that makes me believe legalization can someday occur.

As we speak people are legally using marijuana in compliance with laws and regulations set up by their respective medicinal use states. Assuming these states don't spontaneously combust or develop any other detrimental problems they will be excellent examples for the "real" effects of marijuana use. Granted users in these states are using marijuana for medicinal problems; the results are still the same: crime is not increasing, people are not getting dumber, etc. All of the fictional scare tactic "side effects" of marijuana use are being dis proven on a daily basis on a state-wide scale. THAT is exciting!
