Hello peeps,

I have a yellow issue on my oldest 4 week old plant....she is growing great..lots of new growth..probably on my 6 set of leaves about 6-8 inches tall.

She was originally put in MG, then transplanted to a gallon pot in organic soil mixed with perlite.

SHe's been doing great, but last week her very bottom first set of leaves was turning like a funny banana yellow mottled color, almost like the yellow was fighting to come out..no other leaves were showing yellow, so I just snipped the bad 2 off.

Now I did give the plant her first half strength nutrients with a little cal-mag, and now it seems there are little SLIVERS of yellow on the top part of the veins of the plant, and mottled on a couple leaves. Nothing horrible, but Ive looked at cal-mag def and over watering and it looks like neither.

Id go take a pic, but it's late,so Ill wait until tomorrow.

Im sure someone else has had some experience with what Im talking about. Does over-watering produce an overall yellow or small strips on the veins?

My soil is damp the last inch or two, but dry the top 3 inches or so?

Any help or links to look at would be appreciated!

No answer for you, sadly, but I empathize with you. I'm having similar issues. Little dots of yellow. Not enough to really really worry me but enough to wonder if its the nutes or the lighting

When did you feed them nutes? Before or after the leaves started showing yellow?

After looking through a ton of plants on the brink of death,(talk about anxiety)...(it also made me feel better because I am amazed at how badly some abuse they're poor plants)...I think I either have nute burn...or a Nitrogencal-mag def...hahaha. Great right? Completely opposite solutions to fix.Flush or more nutes...lol

info on the plant:
aprox 5 weeks old...started in MG...then was transplanted after dixie cup to an organic soil seed starter mixed with perlite. (after transplanting others to ProMix/perlite I see the difference in how soil holds so much more water : ) )
SO when it was still in the MG dixie cup the first set of leaves started to yellow...it was transplanted..grew like a champ with LOTS of new growth and stem is as big as a chopstick on the skinny end now...BUT the first set of leaves continued to slowly yellow while everything else was groovy green.

I clipped those leaves off because they were very yellow and not getting much light anyway from the new growth..and they got hit with their first shot of nutes about a week ago(HESI starter kit..PPMs were about 250 and the ph was 6.4 of the solution going in) The plant is a good 6-8 inches high now, and has been under 24-7 600 watt MH for almost 2 weeks now. Temp is 73-75 RH at 60..light about 20 inches away and all my 2 week old fem sprouts are doing fine with it...

my friggin cam is dead..cant find charger..grrr

yellow.jpgkinda like this but without the brown spots..just yellow veins, and not all the way..couple cms here and there on a scattered leaves...mottling not near as bad either. Im going to let the soil dry another day or two...and then hit it with a healthy dose of water..if it starts to look worse..I think Ill know my problem is not enough nutes..I did hit it with a dose of calmag as prescribed on the bottle for non-severe issues..I think I put in 2 ml to a liter of water mixed with the nutes..
