about to lose my plants

I just got a 70 watt Metal Halite bulb for my plants and have been giving them 12/12 hour a day lighting but now the stems look like they are drying up starting from the roots and moving up towards the leaves. What can I do to save my plants?

Pics? Maybe your light is too close. If you're doing 12/12 (flowering), then you want an HPS bulb. A MH bulb will give you airy buds and seriously cut down your yield.

Don't want to rain on your parade but, 70 watts? You're kind of wasting your time with anything smaller than a 600watt system. It takes a long time and hard work to veg and flower plants to a successful harvest. If you're using a system that might not even produce a 1/2 oz in 3 months is it really worth it? That would be less than 1/6 of a gram per day of your hard work. Why not go 600 or even 1000 watts. If done right that could be 5 or more grams per day of your hard work. Just sayin'... you could get more herb from one harvest a year than you could get in 2 years off a 70 watt bulb

Seriously though. Even if he does only yield a half every 3 months, maybe that's all he needs/wants. I mean, people grow tiny plants in PC cases that look like they might yield a joint or two at best. I agree that growing is hard work and if you're going to grow then you should make it worth your while, but to each his own. Hell, if I wanted to I could churn out pounds and pounds, but since I don't need that much and don't/never will sell, I just grow a couple plants to provide me with enough smoke between harvests. If dope was completely legal then it might be another story, but until then I'm not taking any more risks than I have to. I'm paranoid enough as it is.

hey now, i use 400w and its doin me good. straight from clone at a final height of 1.5' i get an oz per plant. the mother i have under her own 400w just started bloom, but from what i can tell shes gonna give me at least 3oz. ok so i have 2 400w hps and a 216w t-5 setup. still you cant say you need a 600w bulb. in some places its impractical. i use 400 for cost and heating issues. i did the math and i pay 32.50 a month to run all this, setup in perpetual, i harvest 6oz every 2 months. plenty for me, and i roll 1g blunts all day. that 70 mh is at least better than using t-8 or t-12's. and i did a grow with a 400w mh all the way thru. buds were harder and more potent than with my hps, but yielded less overall.
