About to start our DWC, question about the perlite...

My boyfriend and I are finally about to put our DWC together. It's not very big and we are planning to upgrade in the future. But we have a 5" round airstone with pump, 2gallon bucket, 5" net pot, perlite, coco fiber. The guy at the hydroponics store recommended us FF Grow Big to go with our FF Big Bloom and Superthrive so we have our nutes. Our perlite however is Miracle Gro (Ick, I know!) but it was all we could find in a bag that wasn't half the size of my boyfriend lol. Question 1, since it will be mixed in with coco fiber will it be okay to use the perlite? Question 2, if we soak the perlite in water for long enough will it get rid of the Miracle Gro crap that we don't want? Or is there some way of doing that since it's just perlite and not soil? Also we kinda wanted to transfer one of our plants from soil to hydro but want to make sure the plant is big enough that it can handle being rinsed off of all soil (plant in pics), or should we just start a new seed? And when starting a new seed in hydro, how high up should the water level be? Any tips would be much appreciated also!!! Trying to get a job at the hydro store we visited today and I was told with some good knowledge I'd have a good chance, so really, any tips would help in more ways than one!!! The pics are also from 2 days ago in case that matters.

I don't know about hydro, apologies

But if you decide to do it dirty I will help much as I can

remember most important thing is to have all your controllable environmental factors at optimum ...temps, rh, ph, air movement, light, nutrients and water....all of it is important....

No one thing will be more important or make up for the shortfall of another

Startin from seed, l had top feed mine (but they were in on flood tables, no rockwool)...if no rockwool then l'd top feed them until roots were at the waterline...they sell bags of pure perlite at walmart, can snag one for about 6 bucks....be alot easier than tryin to rinse off the dirt lol l haven't ever tried transplantin from dirt to hydro so l couldn't offer any advice on that...but if anything, if you want to start the hydro from scratch, put your seeds in expandable clay pellets, also sold at walmart for just a few bucks a tray (comes with about 20 or so)...soak em overnight, then in the mornin, theyre like little baggies of soil to put your seeds in, great way to start...good luck!

Well we got the little Jiffy expandable pellets we were going to use also that I forgot to mention. We just didn't want to do any top water feeding since I've seen it causes mold pretty easily and stuff. Plus that would be more stuff we'd have to buy lol.

We looked at Wal Mart and didn't see any and now we're kinda stuck with this cause we opened the bag lol. So is there any way to make it okay for use?
