1. whats the process for switching from veg to flower.

2. is there anything i should have done the weeks up to this point.

3. should i flush before starting my tiger bloom?



got this far, but confused from now. plants are about 8inches tall and under a 400 hps.

Do yourself a favor and wait until she is at least 18" high or 60-70 days of veg. She will flower faster and yield higher with better potency.

Other than that I like to give them 36 hours of darkness before going 12/12 and also I give them veg nutes until I see flowers coming in. And yes a flush would be great just before you go 36 dark or 12/12. Make sure the last gallon of water has veg nutes in it.

1. The process requires you to be ready. You are switching the light schedule. If you decide to not make it gradual, then you are just going to go ahead and change the light cycle to 12/12 one day.

2. Up till this point you should have been feeding a High N, low P, low K nutrient solution.

3. Watering between nutrient feeds is always recommended.

Average rule of greenthumb is that plants triple in size after flipping the switch. So you have an 8", expect a 2 footer.

Not all plants follow the "rule of thumb" Sativa's can triple, Indica's can double and Hard Core Indica's will just bud rocks ( LA Con).

I just started flowering. Started at 19" and 8-9 nodes. It's growing amazingly good under my 400w hps :) I'm expecting a massive yield. I need to put up pics soon. This is my first grow :] its ak48.

ok so heres the deal, the thing has 9 nodes, true nodes. and well the plants only 8 inches tall.. its just as wide as it is tall and im worried that there isnt enough stem growth. cant seem to find any help with this. the damn thing is thick as nickel probably but only 8 inches tall.. i use thebend the stem trick to make them extra thick.

they had a rough start. this IS my first grow and am kinda in a learning grow. i have tried moving the light up about 6 more inches to try and trick them into stretching.

im at a loss.

im just ready to get this grow over with and start a fresh new one where i know a little more what im doing. thats why i was going to go ahead and flower them and get them done and have some smoke while i try it again.

edit: its nirvana white widow and a nirvana sourcrem UFO freebie.

Ive heard there is an unwritten rule of thumb though. If you do 24hrs 36hrs 48hrs you should do the same at the end before cropping? I just switch mine into 12/12

You don't want them to stretch silly. You want her to branch out not up. Try looking up FIM. That is great way to achieve multi tops.

yeah i understand what you are sayying, but everyone is saying veg until 12 inches or up. But i just thought that there should be more spacing between my nodes, i got less that 3/4 inch between my branches and that is y my plant is less than 8 inches tall at 40 days since sprout. Ive seen hps growers seed come out and shoot up 6 inches before really starting to grow. Mine did not do that. it grew 2 1/2 inches and has just crept its way to >8 inches in 40 days. i have stressed these babies bad. and i am expecting hermies because of it. that is why i am thinking of jumping to flower at this point.

btw thanks for the help. it really hard for a newb to get some actual help here. theres only so much you can research before growing, but i seriously dont know how i am doing, i say i stressed them but i dont know. maybe i didnt.

HPS will stretch them in veg and 12/12. But you want close nodes, the closer the better. And since this is your first grow, do it right. Wait until plant matures (give them time to de stress) you will see the limbs alternate instead of being straight across from one another. That is when she is mature, and then she will really start to veg fast and beautiful. That is when she is full of hormones and will flower beautifully in 12/12

thanks for all of your advice gg13. i guess i will veg a little while longer. my tent is 5ft tall, so in im thinking i shouldn't grow them above 13-14 inches. I'm kind of being mediocre in some part of this grow, its just that i bought the essentials first, and left of some other things to make sure i get my ventilation good to go for flowering. so i don't have things like ph kit or an accurate soil ph meter. I have some ph test strips and i get by with baking soda and vinegar. the soil is mg organic. everyone gives that soil such shit and i dont understand it. anyways. so you say you continue veg nute's until you see white hairs, where did you get that from? i was thinking a good flush before light change and start the tiger bloom immediately. do you know if either route is better?

Top them and allow the bottoms to catch up and grow up towards the top, more tops is better than one. Light gets across the tops, more buds,etc. MG regular is nasty stuff, just google it. As for nutes, well why would you use Tiger bloom if there is no reason? Think now. The plant needs a week or two to start flowering so keep on the veg nutes until she need the other.
