Ac infinity pro problems.. Controller Won't hold temp

Its a cloudline pro 6" fan with the c69 controller. If i set the thing to AUTO, to come on 77f, the fan will hover on speed 3 to 4.. And my tent is reading 85f from it's probe.

If i turn the controller to ON mode. And set the fan to 10. It will then bring the tent down to 80f.

It does the same damn thing with humidity as well. I don't understand why the auto mode isn't doing it's job. I have the min and max setting for the fan at their limits. So it should do this on AUTO, but simply won't.

I have the fan pulling cool air from the basement floor and dumping it in the top of the tent. And it exhaust through an open top and bottom port. Legal state so not concerned with smell. Just want to keep the tent clean and free from dust and pet hair. Which is very difficult with a negative pressure tent.

Do you have your fan pulling air IN to the tent rather than out? From your description that's what it sounds like to me? Please correct me if I'm wrong. You also ideally want to be pulling in cool air from lower vents, and them exhausting out the top using your extraction fan. I've got the same controller too I think, and to set up the auto mode you would choose a minimum running speed. To do this put the fan in the "off" mode and choose your minimum speed. Then to set your fast speed put the fan into "ON" mode and choose your top end speed. Then when you switch back to auto, choose your high temp (point at which the set "ON" speed will kick in) same for humidity setting.

You can also set it to gradually increase in speed as temperatures rise. I have mine set to increase one speed setting each unit of temperature over the limit it rises

I personally like to push hot air out the top and let it pull fresh, cool air in through the bottom. That has worked best for me. I unfortunately can not answer the controller question.

It's only a 4x4 tent. One 315 cmh and 2 leds boards on the lowest setting.

I have set the minimum and maximum in the ON settings. So it is set to increase speed on its own when temps rise. But it just doesn't do it. When I set the the temp or humidity to say 77f it'll be 84f and the fan is showing speed 3 or 4.

But if i crank the temp down to trigger on at 60f then it'll ramp up to 10 and stay there trying to hit that target. It does this for humidity as well.

My basement during a normal day is about 77f and 52% RH , vpd is 1.6

At night it goes down to 70f and humidity will go to about 65%-ish with .87 vpd

In the Pic you can see i have the target set at 58% rh and the max fan speed set to 8.

Yet it's just poking along at speed 3... Even though the RH reading is WELL above the target.

I could change the how the intake and exhaust bring in fresh air. But in such a small tent. I don't think it'll makes a big difference. I camera from growing in a large insulated 12x12ft room. Where i had zero problems. I really hate tents because of the temp and humidity swings from too small an area.

Hmmm. Do you have the low temp switched off? If you're using this to keep temps down and RH down then no need to have the low setting switched on. Ignore the temp and humidity I'm currently drying. If you look in the bottom left I've got mine set to 3 minimum which goes up to 4 if the humidity level is reached. I imagine having the low setting on confuses things, do you have it on?

When they're in full swing, I'll have my high set at 27c with no low setting. It speeds up to my high speed when triggered, and slows to 3 when below it

And you've got your minimum set to zero? Odd that it's only running at 3. Have you tweaked the port settings? Can set transitions so it will go up or down in smaller increments rather than jumping right up. Could be you have too large a transition

If you’ve got high/low temp and high/low RH triggers set, they all act independently. So that’s 4 different settings you have the controller trying to chase at once. It’s not that smart …

turn off all triggers except your high temp and see what happens.

I have basically the same setup, with low-on of 2. OP seems to have a setting set incorrectly, which isn't tough because there's at least one control settings menu that's accessed in a non-intuitive way. I forget what it is though.....

Only the high temp/Rh triggers are on. Lows are all turned off.

It is indeed not the most intuitive menu. I'm using the Bluetooth phone app to monitor and control it manually basically everyday since it isn't doing what it should on auto. Even though it shows it should be able to hit fan speed 10 on auto. But doesn't.

I gave up on using the app and found programming from the screen was the only way to get it to work properly for me. Saw this on their website and could be causing an issue for you:

Hope you get it resolved.

Here's a few pics. You can see the max 10 setting in the bottom right when in auto mode.

Then this morning it wouldn't ramp up to cool the tent set to 80f high trigger on AUTO. It just stays hovering at 83.3 which is too warm and at the extreme of VPD. I had to switch to ON and speed 10. Then it cooled down to 79f... This is driving me nuts. I appreciate the help. May have to call AC infinity.

Mate this honestly looks like you have a transition set up of 1. Go to port settings and change the numbers on this page to zero. You have your off speed as zero which is no problem. But if you have a transition set, then it will only move up one speed per degree above the limit. So for example, your picture shows you have a humidity of 67.6 and your threshold is 61. That's 6.6 units over your threshold which is why your fan is running at 7. Same for your temp. Humour me dude, go to the port settings and check what numbers are there, I'm pretty certain that's what the issue is

I could set mine with an off speed of 1 and an on of 10. If I have a threshold of 27 and it hits 30 degrees my fan would only run at speed 4 (not the ON speed setting) if I have a threshold set of one

I do have both temp and Rh set to 1 degree transitions. I guess i misunderstood how this works.

It's working as expected. You generally have to set the controller temp lower than your target temp. How much depends on your environment and the transition multiplier. With a little tinkering, it's easy to dial in.

Air circulation during the dark period is very important to prevent mold and mildew. Humidity spikes at lights-off. Consider setting the minimum speed setting to something other than zero.
