Hey guys,

Ive got a steel grow cabinet. With a mini A/C fixed in. I've got intake and exhaust fans mounted ventilation as well. Am growing in a tropical region. So temps and RH are very high.

Growing in 5 Gal DWC.
400 Watt MH
OG KUSH

My question is, May I just run the A/C alone? By doing so will it suffocate my plants?

It won't suffocate them but you very much need to bring the temps and humidity down as you have correctly deduced. I've grown OG Kush for years she likes to be a little colder than most strains actually and also she doesn't mind have cold roots but hot roots is no good in my experience. She is Calcium (Ca) hungry try to add it at about 5 to 1 with Magnesium (Mg). Watch the Nitrogen she grows roots slowly and watch the stress she doesn't even recover from some stresses. Those leafs that are heat stressed will probably never look great again but if you correct everything new growth should look beautiful. They will have plenty of co2 I have a meter on my wall though I rarely run co2 I watch the values in my sealed room people think plants uses a lot of co2 but honestly the level is always 700 ppm on my co2 meter which probably needs calibration right now but the point is the same. My room is very well sealed because I do run co2 sometimes such as when it is very hot or very cold but I am getting ready to shut down for june - august screw growing hot I am over that :)

Hi MeJauna,

Thank you for your quick response and very valuable recommondations. ! I was wondering what was going on with those roots. Kept removing them from their hydration to keeping checking for new roots.. Disturbing them each time:? Was very paranoid about the dangers of damping off also. Lost a batch of seedlings due to high water levels. Will take your advice and go easy the Nitrogen and go with your recommended ratio of (Ca) + (Mg) Fingers crossed they pick- up. Am glad there is hope :) They had a bit of a wacky start.. Did not transplant them into DWC until they were over 2 weeks old. I think this caused them some stress along with some stunted growth plus the tropical environment didn't help either. Going to keep her environment consistent. As per your recommendations. Will look into getting some C02 as well. A Big thank you once again :D Sounds like a logical plan, Enjoy enjoy your summer :D
