ACE Ethiopian

This one is a strain ACE seeds made mixing some landraces from Ethiopia, as far as I know. The high should be gentle but nice, although growing such extreme sativas indoors is going to be a pain in the ass. Anyway, just another cannabic experience.

As the breeders state on their page:

"It produces a classic african sativa phenotype: tall, vigorous, flexible, strongly branched plants with long node length (...) The long flowering time is compensated by an excellent final yield, (...) and for its mental effect of great quality, highly appreciated by sativa lovers looking for the more active, sociable, kind and positive effects, always well focused, and without producing paranoia, mental or body heaviness.
Earthy and woody african sativa aromas, with floral, musky and fermented citrus touches."

Well, there they are, 23 of them. There are also 6 Malawi x Panama that came as freebies.

Looks epic man, do you just buy them online? Im in South Africa so this all interests me. I had the privilege of smoking Swazi Gold when i was in Swaziland December last year. That was epic

I ran two of the Ethiopian. Both tasted of tea, moderate potency, sativa effect. I was looking for more trippy or euphoric effects and have not gone back to it. I guess it had a thoughtful or spiritual type effect, the rastas over there smoke it. I was looking for something different. My spiritual effect is not gonna be someone else's cup of tea.

Yes, I bought the seeds through their web page.

I look for something stronger as well, but I can't find anything that's not mixed with indicas, so I'll start with this one and try to improve potency and high energy. Have you got some idea? I'd like to have Oaxaca '79, that's the thing I try to mimic.

I would look at the Malawi x Panama for potency, that sounds like killer cross given those two are Ace seeds most stable landraces. I've got Golden tiger clones in re-veg right now, flowering tomorrow, those have the Malawi in them, the Malawi girls are my favorite. I took clones from a flowering mom and they finally re-entered veg state about a month back, they get huge quick so you have to keep flowering them or killing them. I can flower 10-16 clones per tent as 11/13 kills stretch and quickens it's ripening. The best girls produce singular spiraled cola all the way up the stem and have a fruity/woody spice to them.

I grew both Malawi and Panama some years ago and I can say without any doubt that Malawi is not a landrace. I have grown some real landraces and the difference is quite obvious. I didn't like the effect either, and that's the most important thing I seek. Malawi's effect is too similar to these of mainstream commercial sativas and the taste and production is worse.

Anyway, I'm growing these Malawi x Panama. They will be strong for sure, but I fear the stone will be quite physical.

I have a pack of these also, but not planning to germinate them for another 6 months or so. Looking forward to watching yours.

The Zamaldelica I grew were probably a little closer to a trippy effect. But they weren't too strong. Not as strong as a Jack Herer or Silver Haze that I've had. Pineapple Thai from 707 was very similar to Zamaldelica, but I found stronger phenos in the PT.

Curious, how many of the zamaldelica did you select from, I intended to breed with them so I grew 48 seeds of the Golden Tiger(I think it's in zamaldeldelica) and I have about 3 keepers, some really didn't have a kick but 2 of these are really lysergic in effect and my favorites cut is like coke. I should get my plants tested for thc to know for sure.

I only ran one pack. 5 females. Still waiting to smoke one pheno, but they were all pretty similar to me, more easy going clear headed high than a rush.

Original Haze but not sure where to buy. I had some gifted to me. They may have them listed at Gorilla Seeds. C99 is good and I have a cross of it and Original Haze going, I got it at Gorilla Seeds. But it is a short flower plant so not sure if that is a ideal mix. Not sure if the ACE Old Timers Haze would be a good mix to boost potency. The Original Haze is a known booster and great all around. The Ethiopian is not too weak for me, just the buzz was too 'boring?' I guess.

I would stay away from any so called sativa that has any sedative effects. The Ethiopian is all up and you want to keep that I am guessing.

I couldn't resist the temptation and spent some more money in seeds. I just planted some from the limited edition ACE was offering. Bangi Haze x Ethiopian. I guess these will be faster and stronger than the original Ethiopian, but still uplifting, so I intend to take cuts and find a keeper.

It is a pity I can't change the title of the thread now to include the review of this cross.

These little plants in 1l pots are the Ethiopians (and 6 Panama Malawi freebies) after 5 weeks since I put them in soil. They look good and happy.

The ones in the bottom side of this picture picture are the Bangi Haze Ethiopian. Very dark and indica-like leaves and quite a lot of deformities. I guess this is a temporal issue. The ones in the upper side are Red Snake.

I've just pictured some of the Bangi Ethiopian. They do show a lot of color, and quite a lot of mutating growth. That's exactly what I would expect if I planted some old Blueberries. Very wide leaves, very dark in color.

I guess they'll behave normally in the next pair of leaves, let's see. Anyway I planted enough of them.

Later I'll take a picture of the pure Ethiopians.

Cheers

Hi Allalo,
Nice start with some interesting strains. I'm an Ace fan and have grown Golden Tiger...and have some Zamaldelica seeds as well. Interested in your freebies. I'm currently growing some indica freebies. Lately it seems I'm having better luck with my freebies then my chosen strains. lol
Cheers,
JD

Maybe stray Pakistan Chitral Kush pollen hit it's mom, it happened to my Malawi on one pheno from about 48 of them, blackberry spice sativa.
