Ace seeds sativa's

Are pure old school sativas worth the time and effort. I read some people say they are the greatest thing ever other say they suck. What's your opinions. If you have grown them and liked them any tips and pointers would be appreciated

Apparently they have a unique more stimulating high and sometimes a horrible leafy taste and take as much as 20+ weeks to flower. So there not really worth it in pure form most of the time unless your latitude is between 0°N and 25°N unless you have a large greenhouse and aren't looking for a cash crop. It's supposedly more psychedelic sometimes. I know I've tried one strain that was truly different it was really more like a stimulant high without that much euphoria. But a good saliva will give you euphoria and racing or soaring feelings. But often will have hermaphrodite traits or a bad taste so it's usually more prudent to find a line that has been worked to remove these traits and keep one for your head stash. Separately cuz many months of flowering and possible herms

They better be as I have their Golden Tiger and Killer A5 Haze currently growing in my tent. (In that order, day 35 veg) I screwed up my grow of their Malawi but it was looking very nice before I had bad news one after another after another in a weeks’ time. If I like these guys I still have their Golden Tiger x Panama seeds to try too.

I'll check them out on their website keep posting progress! The Golden Tiger x Panama looks really good for landrace sativa. Not to much leaf etc. Ide say you have a winner. Lots of light tho it wants to be at the equater where the sun is ridiculously intense. What's your lighting set up like?

Not all of us care about the 'clock.' I don't go through enough to care whether it's 20 weeks or 10...and with a few batches of hybrids leaning towards indica and more down-beat effects all jarred up and probably lasting more than the next 6 months, I'm growing sativas because I have the time and I don't care about maximizing yield.

I’ve got a pure power plant going that is 70/30 sativa. I know it’s not a pure sativa, but one thing I think you can prepare for is a long flowering period, and lots of foxtails. Buds likely won’t be very dense either. I’ve decided I’ll stick to a higher leaning indica strain from now on.

They're different in effects. Many will produce a mind racing high not the couch lock sit on the couch baked type of high. That effect is not desirable to many. Especially those that already have a high level of anxiety.

Many don't allow them to fully finish flowering and harvest early which can lead to an underwhelming high. They also don't take well to the high EC feeding many use and end up struggling with unhealthy plants from overfeeding. Also the drying process can go much quicker as the flowers are typically not as dense as indicas and hybrids which can lead to flowers drying too quickly and being over dried which results in a poor quality end product.

As far as sativa genetics go ACE is the place. I've grown quite a bit of their stuff and all of it has been great. I have some of their Malawi flowering right now and have a few more of their strains that I haven't grown yet but am looking forward to.

Did it live up to its reputation? How many weeks did it flower, and what growing medium did you run it in.
I enjoyed it. I think I let it go around 16 weeks. I had some issues with that grow as I was playing around with making organic soil and they were in hot soil from the beginning. It doesn't seem to be a heavy feeder. I had a Malawi leaning pheno that was pretty intense smoke. Racy thoughts, anxiety. A friend that came over looked at it and didn't seem impressed. Then I gave him a joint to smoke. He ended up stuck in a chair for a few hours after he ended up lightheaded, paranoid, etc... He was in no shape to drive in traffic. I had told him to just take a couple of hits but he puffed away.

I really think that those that are not impressed with it are not growing it until it's done. I'm going to grow it again but in coco. Probably start a plant after summer when I start the indoor flower tent back up after my 2 month summer shutdown. I had gotten regular seeds and out of a pack of 5 all were female so I ended up making a bunch of feminized seeds so I'm good to go.

Here's a couple Malawi I have flowering. I don't do much training. The one on the left was topped once. I'm pissed at myself because I fed them a little too hard and the tips are brown and slightly curled. They're finicky girls. At least with coco I'm able to correct it immediately. The Golden Tiger I grew in soil just had to ride it out and it was a rough ride.

These were vegged a couple weeks and then to 12/12. They're just in 2 liters of coco. I hit them both with pollen. One from a Malawi male and the other with some Highland Thai pollen. It was mainly a seed run to reproduce the Malawi but the Highland Thai pollen was ready at the right time so I had to make the cross.

I’ve only grown one type from Laos, they’re definitely different. I ran it just under 22 weeks of flower but it was very unhealthy from a mid flower screw up.

The smell and taste are way different compared to all other weed I’ve had. It stank like rotten lime and eucalyptus, and the buds left your fingers greasy instead of sticky.

the high is nice, for some reason it takes like 10-15 minutes to kick in but it lasts forever. There’s no cloudy thoughts or laziness and I don’t feel burnt out when it wears off. I’m prone to anxiety/paranoia from weed but I get none from this stuff.

it’s perfect for when I have shit to do later in the day and don’t want to be stoned out for it.

the stretch was insane though. It didn’t stop growing until 7 weeks into flower and I didn’t see any brown pistils til 8.5 weeks4D844C01-5339-4803-B1EF-C6CFDF1AB7D8.jpeg

How did these turn out?

i messed up on my Killer A5 Haze but still some smokeable stuff, and she is strong and narcotic high. Probably some of the strongest stuff I had tried, and will be attempting another proper grow of her. Might even try to clone the top for an outdoor attempt in southern Ontario.

Golden Tiger on the other hand came out amazingly well. I did 8 weeks of veg and just over 18 weeks of flowering. I can have 2 bowls of her for energetic, focused, be snacky as ballz, and take my dog for a walk on it. Music sounds great with her and it does great with my inflammation after work. Now if I were to take say 4 bowls of her, she then becomes real trippy. I did this for a walk with my dog and I was sort of dizzy/loopy feeling, but still energetic. Then I had to pluck some burrs that got stuck on my dogs legs and I had a hard time keeping my balance bending downwards. Then the high slowly becomes a very relaxing a few 2-3 hours later and could fall asleep. She becomes even stronger with just a small handful of regular plain Gummie Bears too. So the 2 bowls will feel like the 4 bowls now, or very close too it. My next tent grow is going to be all Ace redemption grow I think. Gonna try to grow again Malawi, Golden Tiger, and Killer A5 Haze. Plus I will try growing their Golden Tiger x Panama strain as well.
