I agree totally. I once took a large amount of acid over a couple hours time. The first dose I tripped but after that it didn't really effect me as much at all and taking more definately didnt get me any higher.

My first time on lsd I took three hits and just felt disoriented at first. Then we smoked a joint. Then a hole opened up in my brothers face and a bright purple beam of light came out of said hole. It was beautiful. Everything took on a cartoonish look for a while. At the peak of the high I felt like I was bodyless and flying through a kilidoscope of colors. COLORS!!!!!!! COLORS!! COLORS!

Am I the only one salivating? I've only ever done weed and salvia. I really like where both take me, sometimes together even.
This sounds excellent, but I'm thinking of trying shrooms first.

L is great, and shrooms is a great stepping stone! I feel like there is more to be learned on mushrooms... once you break your psychadelic cherry on shrooms an entire world opens up... just the world on L is a little more clear but it can be a bit overwhelming if you don't know how to just roll with the experience.. which is EXACTLY what happens on shrooms.... the current shrooms produce is strong, and even if you fight it you will surrender yourself before a few hours time.

Once you taste the real stuff and trip balls you'll never forget it. To me the good stuff always had a slight metallic taste and felt kinda slippery on the tongue. (Amber Rose liquid was still my all time favorite.) Then within an hour or so your vision would get kinda screwy, stuff shifting on you, tracers off moving stuff, things seeming really shiny, light dimming and getting brighter. Personally I think you got some bunk. =)
Also, I never really saw stuff that wasn't already there, just everything was different...sometimes wayyyyyy different, but still there in reality.

I do notice that GOOD doses have that EVER so slight taste when you rub your tongue against it in the first 10 mins

I think you are more likely to taste the Ethanol or Isopropanol that evaporated.. people say there is no flavor, but it seems that when an alcohol is used as a solvent for LSD that is then laid on blotter, it always leaves a flavor.

^^^ It definitely has that slimy, slightly metallic taste whether it be in liquid or blotter form. (I've heard way old school heads say the same thing.) Maybe it's the strong alcohol it's dissolved in or something but you know when you get a good hit. It's almost slightly conductive or electric ya know? =)
The last trip I did was 10 hits of liquid on the tongue with pretty decent tolerance already and it still got a little spotty lol...this was 15 plus years ago. No clue what stuff is like nowadays.

I can vouch for how much mental state affects the action of psychedelics.... I've got my issues, but I'm not psychotic.. but I've had a long history with alot of 'harder' drugs from a very young age, and I've always had this obsession almost with being able to be in control while under the influence so I've always ended up being the guy that does the crazy doses on everything. Hallucinogens are a bit more tricky than most drugs though, but still yet, when I'm under alot of stress, or have something big weighing on my mind, I have been known to take some "heroic" doses without much of an effect at all. I know my drugs are good, and they were great at other times, mental state plays a bigger role than most give credit for, but then again, most are rather uninformed/inexperienced.

I took first 7 hits over 4 hours, nothing, week later 5 at once, trip I excepted from 1.... few days later, took 4 at once, and gave 4 to a friend, both of us, nothing....
either I got ripped, the guy I got it from got ripped, or the guy who gave it to him, made a mistake somewhere along the way...
