adding AC / exhaust questions

ive been making upgrades as summer is coming ,like a chiller and iwaki pump im waiting for :bigjoint:.. AC is next on the list along with another exhaust fan/filter. My 2 lights are aircooled pulling air threw the hoods from another room and exhausting into another room . Normally without AC id run a fan with filter exhausting room . if i add AC do i still need to have a fan exhasuting the room for air exchange? if so , wouldt that just make my AC work harder? . or can i just use fan and filter to scrub the smelly air in the room. thanks

Check out the fresca sol light fixture, it is water cooled and eliminates all of the problems you have. If you have room for a 55 gallon barrel of water, you're set. No need for exhaust fans, a/c, or odor control. Wish I had seen this before I wasted a lot of money on all that stuff.

i run 3 fresca sols and i like em, but even when i only ran 1...a 55 gal. res. wasnt enough to keep the water from getting too warm. im currantly using a 4000 gal swimming pool for my res. no chiller needed thus far, i love the lights and you gotta dial em in,but youll still need fans, and a little cool air. i ran a waki in line pump for about a day....the motor would get too warm, and made my chiller work harder, so i switched back to my submersable pump. any ways about your a-c question....i think it will depend on the type you use. i have a PAC.you put it anywhere in the room and vent out the hot exaust via a 5" flex hose. my grow doesnt smell yet, but when the time comes i plan to put a charcole scrubber on the end of the exaust duct to control oder. my a-c doesnt kick on very often as i run a co2 gen. so i run my temps a little on the warm side. any ways..good luck on your a-c problem.i personally think a-c and cooling issues are as varied as the growrooms themselves so trial and error is usually the answer............later

theres a little thing called a No Flow- No Go. it shuts off lights if the water pump fails for some reason. the glass on the lights are tempered and if you drop it...it will break, but then....what light wont? i have all p v c plumb. with short hoses for (pigtails) and all power is overhead and water tight. so really....theres not alot to break. but i wouldnt recomend them in a shoddy grow room. water and elect. dont mix, ha-ha!.......

If you have A/C dedicated to the grow room i would seal it off and run Co2, It will be pretty efficient, or you can just exchange the air every hour and I'm sure that would be OK too... I just installed A/C and it makes life way easier and wish I broke down and got it earlier. I can post pics if you want JR

i guess exhchanging the air ever hour sounds good for my needs , Co2 is coming .... next year maybe ... i hope i can do without the AC this year , but i think i cant avoid this . so i will soon see thanks

with just an AC alone, does that eliminate the need for air cooled lights, Exhausting in from cool places and out to anywhere else?
and how much did yall pay for the rigth AC.

I run 3 1000k Fresca sols and a 8000btu window ac unit. My room never gets over 80 (I have co2) and it's close to 100 outside. In the winter I just run my Fresca sols. If your going to get an ac system that is specific to your room, invest in a ductless, or "mini Split" system. You have many btu ratings and they don't exchange the air in the room so you can run co2 in a micro climate thus eliminating your cooling, co2, and smell all in one!
