Adding calmag to H&G cocos a&b?

Growing in botanicare's cocogro and running house and garden cocos a and b with their full line. Do I still need to add a cal mag additive to my nutrient mix every feed? Or will the coco specific nutes have enough cal mag in it to suffice?? For my calmag I have humboldt nutrients equilibrium, organic.

You may need it if using R/O water, if using tap you will most likely not need any additional cal/mg supplements.

No, there's plenty in any H&G AB line, especially in coco. Do make sure the ph is 6.0-6.2 sometimes as well and don't keep it strict on 5.8 or lower or you may end up locking it out.
Thanks for the advice, its my first run with coco. So would it be cool to just water with a ph of 5.8, next watering 6.0-6.2, then next 5.8 and so on??

Any other tips or advice you could hook a brother up with, pertaining to coco? First run in coco, im around 18 days from seed right now and im about to start their first feeding soon. Becides h&g's line im also running humboldt nutrients myco madness and also (if i need to) humboldt nutrients equlibrium

Additional i have well water here and its always 0.0 ec and/or ppm. Super nice quality water. Not sure how it compares to r/o but deff wayyyyy better then tap for sure

That's pretty much what I do in my NFT setup, let it drift between 5.8 and 6.2. I used AB hydro and AB aquaflakes, never had a Ca def (with R/O and high ppm tap alike). I used the aquaflakes from my NFT rez and added some N, Ca, Mg because I didn't have coco line, but the main point of coco nutes is the additional Ca. 11% of the nutes in AB hydro and aqua are Ca already.

Tap water is not always as bad as people assume, it often contains free micros, some Ca, and some Mg and a little chlorine isn't a bad thing per se. It sure is nice to get such clean water from a well though.

Not really, I occasionally grow some coco plants on the side, but not really a coco guy. Best advice I can give is search the grow journals forums for coco and see what the better coco growers with similar setups do.

Is that just watered down ammonium sulfate with red dye added? It says it's a dark red liquid. Oh hell, I'm just over-complicating things. Buy the red dyed water instead!

(checked... it's ammonium hydroxide + diammonium polysulfide.. ground breaking recipe)

Just like Nitrosul.

Just anticipating the next additive, a sulfur nitrogen booster. It works similar as calmag, you basically pick two essential elements and bottle and sell those. After PK there was calmag, I guess NitroSul could be the next. After that possibly SillyCop and Zironizer.

It's easier than you think. Just take one salt and rename it.

Sodchlor+, (the plus means w/iodine!) Derived from 99.99% table salt and 0.001% of our super special ingredient... Vitamin G, also known as the "Give me your money" vitamin.

Still not convinced? Sodchlor+ is so cheap, you should not be looking to save money relpacing SodChlor+. End of debate!!! Ignore the fact that they sell the real deal at the dollar store for a dollar.

Put potassium silicate in a bottle. Protekt... like protect... get it? Whether you think silicates work or not, bottom line is that it's one salt put in a bottle and renamed into something silly.

Let's not forget....

SNOW STORM!!! aka potassium hydroxide + water! They suggest to spray it all over your leaves. I guess that's okay because it's mostly water.

Yeah I know, some basically take a single compound. And Protekt is a great example indeed, especially since enough K can prevent the problems Si supposedly solves. So, PK first, then CalMag, now the Protekt bandwagon.

Could one of the sulfur nitrides ( http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulfur_nitride ) disolve into usuable N and Sulfur? NitroSul, an extra booster on top of a PK booster, for extra trichs and terpenes. Keeps plants healthier throughout flowering too.

calmag is a lie.
Cal-mag is;

Calcium nitrate (notice they don't mention the nitrate).

Epsom salt, and again they don't mention either the sulfur in it- in spite of the fact that it's quite helpful- OR the fact that you can buy it dry for about two bucks a pound at your local drug store or grocery store pharmacy section.

That's basically what MOAB is 99.9% one thing, 0.1% something totally irrelevant to make it seem more complicated than it is.
Exactly correct and I think it's a fucking SCAM. It really bugs me, since the rest of the Mad Farmer line is so legit- especially their Get Down pH reducing additive.

What about the added Iron? There is no Iron in Cocoa AB. CalMag and other products contain Iron that for the last 15 years I was under the assumption that Iron is important for seedlings. So what do you do about providing iron to your precious ladies? I have no Iron supplement. I can't find a definite YES or NO for adding calmag to RO water anywhere. All it says on the bottle is add AB to low PPM preferred. What the hell does that even mean, LOW? 300 is low 200 is low. 1 is low. Stupid asses making major lute on their watered down crap. Where is the iron, the molybdenum, and hundreds of other micros?
