Advacned nutes 3part Do or die?

I am on the advance micro, grow, bloom 3 day cycle. One day feed, one day pure water , one day nothing. I am noticing what appears to be magnesium Deficency. Some rust(necrosis) on lower fans and a tiny bit yellow shade coming from the new shoots. The plants are about 21/2 wks. i plan on spraying them with Epsom salt today. Two questions? Are the nutes I am using giving the plants enough of what they need? Should I add a cal/mag to my regiment?

Thanks

so you give them nutrient water on day 1, plain water on day2, and nothing on day 3, then repeat with nute water on day 4? Is your soil still all wet every time you water your plants? I'm not sure how big your plants are, but under most conditions, you shouldn't be watering so often (assuming I'm understanding your water cycle). If your soil is all soaked, you don't need to water it. Try to read your plant a little bit and water them when the soil starts drying up a bit, don't just water for the sake of watering. You don't want to drown your roots, that can lead to problems down the road.

As far as calmag issues, you can add some dolomite lime to your soil next time you mix it. That'll take care of calmag problems. But ANs 3 part should be complete if you're using it correctly. Try to correct your watering frequency and see if things look better.

No nutrients can have the amount of cqlcium and magnesium that plants need because it will lock out other elements just ad cal mag and fix your problem

That's a good point. So you're saying Mg can only be like .7% and Ca maybe 3% in any concentrated mixture before it precipitates?

I was doing just that

I had not noticed any overwatering signs so I thought i was good. I would stick my finger down about 2" and it was dry but now i have a moisture monitor and found that the bottom of my 10 gal pots were very moist. I have now backed way off on the watering. 1 day feed , 1 day dry , 1 day RO , 2 days dry. At least thats the plan , I am monitoring my moisture better regardless. Added call mag to my nutes and although the affected plant with the necrosed spotted fan leaves will not come back , the yellowing has gone away.

Thats what ive always learned no matter what nutrients you use it can never have enough cal mag in it
i use an's stuff and i always add a bit of cal / mag plus from botanicare i believe it is.. even when i used other nute brands like fox farms trio and some other stuff from botanicare, i always add some cal / mag plus to the mixture..

Can you please be more specific? What elements are being 'locked out'? Are you talking about mineral bonding or nutrient antagonism?

How many times a week are you hitting them with that? Sounds a little high in my opinion.

For instance I run all my AN nutes at 1/2 strength and feed 2-3 times per week with plain ph'd water in between feeds when necessary. On occasion i'll add Seagreen to my regular watering's to help flush things and that always gives things a boost.
