Advanced Nutrients

hey all,

I'm just finishing up with my first grow, moving onto my second. I run a Waterfarm hydro system with hydroton soil and 2x1000watt HPS lights. Currently, I use Flora Gro, Micro, and Bloom, Rhino Skin, and some CalMag (I had a mminor nutrient deficiency problem).

My question is: should I move onto more advanced nutrient system like Floralicious or any other GH products? I'm expecting a very sizeable yield with dank buds for my first time, but will advancing my nutrients make a huge difference?

The floraliciuos plus is a good product that I currently use. I did not care for the flora nectar, or the vegan plant booster. I use a product similar to the rhino skin, silicon is good stuff.

The more I research nutes the less impressed I am with brands with like AN & GH. Both are highly overpriced, there are some incredible threads on nutrients on this forum, side by side comparisons etc. The end of the day all of it is the same but in different concentrations and the reality is if you read your plant and give it what it needs with what you have to the best of your ability your results will be pretty good to incredible.

If you search you can find the Lucas formula recipe to make yourself and how to make your own of the AN/GH products on this site. Not necessarily recommending this, but what costs 700 bucks per X amount with AN will cost you closer to 100-150 bucks per X amount (or if you're not using amino acids and other expensive stuff base fertilizers should be cheaper per gallon than your RO).

Now obviously mixing your own is not the easy route, but there are other alternatives that will give tremendous results at a reasonable price. DynaGrow is one many on here swear by and there have been direct head to heads where Dyna out performs AN.

This isn't to say AN and GH don't have some useful products, they do, but the price isn't worth it IMO. Always options comparable or better for less.

Gravity contains PGR's which are known toxins not intended for crops for human consumption...it may work but it totally contaminates your bud with a known poison...its a pity so many people use it and think their bud is "clean" cos some guy told them their plant was a toilet and flushing cures all...

I would definitely stick with Advanced Nutrients as the nutes in your grow. They're the ones that are an advanced nutrient system, from my experience - and that's why they're named that, IMHO

My basic growing setup looks like this and works like a charm.

Sensi A&B Grow
Sensi A&B Bloom
Voodoo Juice
Big Bud
B-52
Overdrive

And I've also been adding:

Piranha
Bud Candy
Final Phase

With the pH Perfect® technology, it's a power team. But I'd love to hear the results of other nutrient systems since it never hurts to learn.
